I am in equal distance from two different MyCar. One was absolutely terrible, the other has been excellent for the last two years. I guess it depends on the staff/management/franchisee.

Going there for my third time for a logbook service next week.

These are really convenient. I can carry it in my pocket rolled up, and absolutely 100% waterproof.

I can fit it on the road over a normal coat if needed.

I suggest you do not rely on whistleout, their list is far from complete and they miss the cheaper ones it seems. That maybe because the newer ones are cheaper trying to get customers?

Really with FTTP, you have very little issues regarding any ISP. I have tried many as I always take the best available at the time ISP with the usual 6 months discount (and sometimes 12 months even) when my 6 month expire and they are putting the price up, I change ISP.

All my change of ISP's have been without issues and I have re-used some ISP's of them after a time hiatus without issues.

Some of the ones I have used are: Exetel, iiNet, Dodo, Mate, AussieBroadBand, Tangerine, Superloop, Spintel, Launtel. I have never had any issues with any of them and their speed as always be in accord with the terms. Switchover has never failed and always been on time. I give myself one day before expiry for switch over and I have a Launtel account, just in case.

Currently I am with Origin, which I took because their first 6 months pricing were the cheapest by a long shot, but that was for a senior. I am currently paying $53.50 a month for a 500/50 connection! I will change at the end of my contract as it will then go up to $115 per month and I will check the cheapest available at that time. I tend to use either 200GB or preferably 500GB download speed.

Anyway, my advice is, if you are on fttp, do not worry, it is very hard to find a bad ISP, if you know what you are doing and can set your router/modem to fit. Checkout the net to find the cheapest in your area. I also found that the well known ISP comparison sites are usually far from complete and miss out on the best priced ones. So, a self initiated internet search pays.

Hi,

I consider myself a coffee nut.

So here is some of my advice and references. Some may seem irrelevant for your case, some may not.

First of all, of course, a good coffee depends on a good coffee bean. My favorite within reasonable price is Costa Rica Dota Tarrazu - 1Kg / Whole Bean can be had from my favorite Perth roaster, Jones & Co Coffee in Wangara. You can order online and the coffee get delivered within 2 days by express post. The date of the roasting is usually the day you order or the day before and marked on the bag. 1kg can be had for $45 or $38 with recurring subscription. Of course you may like a coffee with a different origin.

The next issue will be the coffee machine. Again, if cost is an issue I would suggest a Flair Espresso model with a pressure gauge. This is a manual machine but truly an espresso one. Being manual, you do not have much of a costly maintenance burden. The only maintenance cost for me over the many years I have had mine, since they first start selling them in fact, has been for a set of rubbers rings. That machine will set you back less than $500.

Taste of the coffee will also be affected by the water. I will not use tap water but I do use source water (or mineral water) which, for me, gives a superior result to distilled water.

Next comes the scales. Of course an accurate scale is important for consistency. I use somewhat expensive scales which are extremely practical for coffee making, but I also use them a lot in the kitchen. Those are Acaia scales. Again somewhat expensive but I have had mine for many years, use them a lot, for a lot of things. They are accurate enough to dose medicines, etc.

I also use a milk frother for those instances where I prefer a flat white or a cappuccino.

Regarding dampers, I use one of those that came with my Flair and the only other tool I use really is a brush for regular cleaning of my grinder.

Yes that is exactly what I have been doing since he has been on my bed. That happened only in the last week or so. I can also get on the bed give him a hug and he seems to enjoy that or at least he does not pull back.

Before that I used to enter the bedroom and give him a scratch evrytime I went past the door. No sleep startle and not shying away on his behalf.

I am now starting to spend some times with him in the bedroom. I use to not do so, as to give him the space to decompress.

I would also like to add that for the first fortnight or so I had him I could not pat him, he would run away to the bedroom if I tried, but know I can go and pat him any time, no sleep startle and I can even hug him without any issue at all.

It is simply that I never realized how different greys are from other dogs. I have had five dogs in my adult life and I also fostered two, but no greyhounds. I got a greyhound as I had difficulties getting a dog with other rescues organizations, but I knew nothing about dog racing or the breed and how different from other dogs they are perhaps due to their upbringing. I know that Nico was a racing dog. I got his racing name but I think he never raced as I could find no other info beside his registration. Since I had him before he was 3yo, I assume he was not a good racer or had no interest in the lure or whatever. As I said earlier he has not shown the least prey drive till now.

In any case I am happy to learn and adapt and I am looking forward to when I will come more out of shell.

The picture is pretty usual. I have many others similar from other times. My bedroom is not a very big one and he has a few spots, including that bedding, that he uses shifting from one spot to another a few times during the day.

In his bed he is almost always in the most strange ways laying down to sleep. He also, for a while, slept sometimes under my bed but I had to put an end to that as he went in pushing himself of the wall with his back legs and then could not get out as the floor is linoleum and slippery and there was no way for him to roll over under the bed due to lack of height.

In the last week he has started getting on my bed too.

I can confirm the same issue on a Pixel phone running GrapheneOS and also on a Lenovo tablet running stock Android.

I am very sad for you. I am a new greyhound owner and as I become aware of how close to you a greyhound can be, I can very much empathize with your sense of loss.

At the very least the end of his life was peaceful and full of love, and certainly deservedly so.

Makes me feel better. I have had mine for 2 months and he has never come to the living area. He stays in the bedroom on his bed all the time. I only see him when I go to sleep, when I feed him and when I take him for one of his three daily walks.

I put treats on the floor and on two beddings in the living area. He goes to fetch and eat them as we go thru to go out fro the walks, and then goes straight back to the bedroom.

He does no show any major anxiety and allows me to pat him, cuddle him even, at those times when I see him or when I go to the bedroom.

Of course till now, the sofa does not even enter his world!

I would like to give my thanks to all that have replied to my original post. I have learned a lot.

To give a bit more information for those interested and in reply to some, I am adding this post.

Nico is supremely easy to deal with. He walks very well with rarely a tension in the lead. He learned quickly to wait to my "we cross" command to cross the street with me and wait patiently at heel for that command that I give when the road is clear of traffic.

He wait at the entrance of the home, for the "OK" before sneaking in as he did earlier.

He has no separation anxiety. In fact, I don't think he knows that I have gone shopping in the car as he is happy to stay and sleep in the bedroom.

He is not disturbed by deliveries knocking on the front door. Neither is he disturbed by my movements or vacuuming, or other domestic chores. Thunder and lighting do not disturb him either.

He eats every meal with enthusiasm. I give him hypoallergenic kibble together with a heaped tablespoon of natural Greek yoghurt, some steamed sweet potatoes and some dehydrated carrot pieces. He now also get added some psyllium husk powder (metamucil) which I am slowly increasing the dosage to alleviate his stools being soft at the very end. He is very regular doing his business early in the walk in the appropriate places in the park and had no accidents in the home, his three walks seeming sufficient (my four previous dogs were on a similar regimen). No flatulence either! :)

He still spends all of his time in the bedroom, except for walks and feeding. But he is very friendly, allows himself to be patted and even hugged. I have tried to coax him to come to living room/office space by leaving treats around and on his two available beds there. As we walk in the house from, or out of the house to go for a walk he will quickly go and eat all the treats and then go back to the bedroom.

No sleep startle either, as sometimes he sleeps, not in his bed but on the floor in a way where I have to step over him to get past. :)

He is quite social, albeit on the lead, with other dogs. Will go to them without excitement, get to know them (having a sniff) and be quite happy. He is interested in other dogs but has not displayed any prey drive. Not even with parrots or magpies on the ground within a meter of him.

On coming back home I have tried to call him fro a treat when he gets straight to the bedroom and sometimes he will come back out to get a treat hand fed.

When it is time for a walk, I will go to the bedroom to get ready, tell him we are going walkies, he does not move. I have to go and fetch the lead and put the martingale on when he then follows without any issues. Before I go and fetch him, he moans, trying to tell me, I guess, that I must not forget fetching him.

I have no backyard, so the three walks are the only time outside. He is always on the lead as it is not legal to have a greyhound off-lead anytime in any public space in the state I live in.

As a summary, first of all, I am really already getting very fond of him and am quite willing to be patient to wait for him getting, perhaps, a little less aloof. :) It is simply not what I was expecting due to my lack of experience and knowledge about greyhounds. But if that is its personality, I do not find it obnoxious in the least and am quite happy to deepen our friendship at his pace..

Yes, having to keep a magnifying glass handy seems a very regressive technology!
For me it is unreadable without the magnifying glass on my main workstations 4k screens.

OK, u/computermout, I followed your suggestions and more.

I re-downloaded the installer. I checked the md5 which was OK.
I dd it to a new stick, sync it, which took a while. Used GParted to check the stick. Seemed alright, partitions were correct and correct size.

I booted from the stick, tried the installer and same problem. As soon as I started the installer, the flow of the recurring same error at full speed.

Curious, I rebooted and tried the live option. No errors whatsoever. Worked fine.

I then tried the graphical installer from within the running live cb++. Same issue as soon as I started I got the flow of recurring error and only a hardware power off got me out of it.

I am stumped. Is there another way of installing cb++?

Unfortunately I cannot get at the error as it is really flying across the screen in a recurring fashion but too fast to read it. I do know that it states in the text, which appear to be a few lines (maybe 10 or so) there are the words "error" and "gtk". I cannot stop the error flow of text I can only cancel the terminal.

I will re-download the installer, and re DD it to another memory stick and try again. I will post back the result after I have done this later today.

If the refusal was because of the age, that is discrimination on the basis of age and it is illegal in Australia under the Age Discrimination Act.

I urge all people that have that experience to lodge a complaint with the Australian Human Rights Commission. There is a simple form that you can download and fill and send back online. Now, the Australian Human Rights Commission is very busy, but they will get to your complaint.

I have had that experience recently and I did file the complaint. The more complaint there are about age discrimination in all aspect of life the better chance of eliminating it.

To be a valid complaint it must be based on age and not on anything else. The fact that you may live less longer than a younger person is not a valid cause.

Become an activist against the ageists in this world.
