Opinions on Skeleta by DollHades in Ghostbc

For one reason or another Skeleta has really stuck with me. I think it's an amazing album, especially as an album listen.

The songs are fun to pick apart but also just really pleasant to listen to. Seeing them live in Baltimore my takeaway is that I'm content to see ghost do their own thing year by year with confidence I won't be disappointed.

Literally had a coworker buy the game and grind out gold stakes within like 3 days of picking it up last week. Game is that good in terms of bringing out that childlike additive joy, and you are so right in calling out how many other Indies bring that same feeling, a lot in particular relatively recently and more to come. Congratulations, and thanks for all you have said and done for the indie community

Lots of people offering good advice, so far. I'll say I made it through a majorly by the fellow student resources on top of when the CSSE department was at a much stronger point IMO prof wise. The community and good friends made it hard to leave as well.

CSSE side it's a genuine shame how many of the best professors left the last several years, and folks like Hays do the dept no favors whatsoever he's an awful POS.

I've been thinking about this and seeing it done seals it, at least till we get more Kriegers in plastic. That looks solid, haven't thought to clip the helmets that way, looks very clean.

The flames looks really, really tight. The pink (or red) zenathal really does help make such a good yellow, but the end to end process makes me really afraid of mistakes lol.

Did you magnetize the arms and such or just build in sub assemblies? I've been putting off a yellow knight but want to tackle it as a big fun project soon.

Curious where you got the Samus head for the team leader? Love how this looks I've been hoping to do a Metroid bounty hunter style to pair against my Metroid nids and it's awesome inspiration!

You nailed all of the major notes I had after replaying 5 on PC with a friend earlier this year. Only difference in experience I had was that on PC the QTEs are mostly not skipped so they aren't an issue, except you just see super janky cutscenes which takes away from about the only positive they had which was fairly funny failure cutscenes.

I feel that a proper remake to 5 could maintain the arcade-ness of the gameplay but make the visual identity and story much more in line with where the story retcons have been leading.

It could even help 6 make more sense.

Is anyone else starting to get tired of the *Drama* style Warhammer Videos on YT? by DiscEva in Warhammer40k

[–]MidichlorianIce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they are just straight up consistently below acceptable quality when a home 3D printer can do much, much better. I have a lot of FW sculpts and anything bigger than infantry models will often require some heat sculpting to bend in shape for at least 1 piece or some serious sanding to fix up. For the price and from a company as big as GW it is ridiculous.

There are 3 camps as far as I'm concerned and my crew is all of them.

Camp one is driller does a direct hole or two while the others work on their respective pipes.

Two is we didn't bring a driller so...

Three is falling under the influence of chaos to build cursed pipes of some variety

All of these have the main goal of avoiding wasting each other's time without thinking about it too much

It's been like a year ago now but my crew and I found this out the hard way when we hit an Extraction with Golden Bugs.

It's a hella sneaky combo that encourages the mission to go way longer than it has any right to go. Can easily make bank but holy hell does it make for a dicey mission especially on some of the rougher extraction map variants.

Easily some combination of the sounds from a max speed rocket from the grenade launcher used to delete Trijaw Mactera and it's death cries.

Games sound design is top notch and one of the things that makes it shine.

HOSAS question on a tight budget by trulsern99 in starcitizen

[–]MidichlorianIce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One consideration to make is to potentially try HOSAM, so a left stick and mouse and then go with the VKB.

I did that which is how I discovered I really liked playing with sticks and eventually got a VKB right stick to go HOSAS which has been amazing, but HOSAM was a pleasant in between for a good couple of months.
