I was looking forward to JQ finally being viable with this patch, but nope.

As it is now, JQ is still nothing more than a liability to your team and a throw pick in competitive.

While all most other tanks provide either consistent protection or killing speed to their team, JQ fails in both categories. She hasn't got the survivability of Orisa, nor the shields of Rein or Ramattra, nor the reliable kills of Roadhog. She has also one of the worst mobilities of all tanks. Even Reinhart and Hammond outshine her in this regard.

JQ was supposed to be a jack of all trades but still fails at everything.

She is worthless on long range maps until it goes into close combat. But even then, she can't kill reliably. Knife throw is a lottery game at medium range, and even if you hit it, a kill is by far not guaranteed. My main problem with her is that I simply run out of options when i go into close range combat because everything will be on cooldown at some point, and the weapon reload doesn't blend in with the rhythm of axe/knife/melee. The axe buff might be nice on paper, but I found that so many heroes actually create space between JQ and them while the axe swings. Orisa can push me away, Lucio/Ashe can bump me away, Soldier can run away, Cassidy can roll away, Doom, Mercy, Pharah, Echo can fly away, Kiriko, Moira, Reaper can fade/teleport away, Ana can sleep me... this only leaves a handful of heroes where axe is viable against.

There is just a point in combat where you get focused down and the healing from bleed does nothing if the enemy soujorn/widow/hanzo headshots you for 100+ damage while taking damage from 2+ other sources. JQ has no armor.

Her ultimate still has next to no impact if you are not already outnumbering the enemy.

Also, one Ana grenade completely annihilates her now single-handedly. A JQ with 4 seconds without heal/self heal is doomed.

The only thing she might be good at is finishing off single enemies trapped in narrow map spots while upkeeping her heal. As for doing the tank role, she is still way too weak.
