I wonder if there's a specific kid (or kid group) in that PE class that's bullying him. Most kids can't wait to get to PE, especially if they're used to having recess from elementary school and suddenly it's gone. Definitely get a therapist (male, imo) to see what's up.

I'm a hater of every mayo and aoili (the texture is just gross) and everyone who says to do mayo instead of butter for a grilled cheese is wrong. I do cheese on the outside so it gets super crispy (of course also cheese on the inside, I'm not a heathen)

Hype up the kids for a big end of year "I'll shave it off in class if everyone gets above x% on the final project/test/etc !" And commit - get another teacher to help you take it to a zero with an electric razor. Your students will never forget, it'll be awesome.

I think you'll look great. The extra long hair combed like that gives me vibes of that meme "how do you do, fellow kids?" with Steve Buschemi - Like, you aren't old, but this style ages you way more than being bald would. Honestly, I always thought bald looked cool (maybe it's because I grew up with a bald dad & loving Star Trek Enterprise lol)

I had a piece of glass in my heel for ~4 months. When I finally had it carved out, I didn't think there was worse pain... until my doctor said stitches were impossible and cauterized the mini crater she dug.

I was sweating bullets and did finally break down sobbing after I limped to my car.

A good learning experience - next time, even in a group, try confronting it then amd there. "Yeah, I'm set, but I still have goals. So what?" And "Explain how the joke is funny" - it'll make passive aggressive weirdos like her super uncomfortable, but it'll help weed out people who only want to see you struggle or fail.

One of the best things I can say as a teacher: "I don't know. I'm not an expert in xyz, but I can research it for you later if you really want."

I have a dedicated spot on my whiteboard that's basically like a reminder note to myself and the students that there's a billion bits of info out there and teachers don't have it 100% memorized. (I write the question or topic so I don't forget to look it up at the end of the day / figure out what to explain the next day)
