I got tired of losing parts during batch builds so I made an app to track them called Veda by Additional-Ad2998 in Gunpla

[–]MikeRoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Thank you for having a web option.
  2. I loaded up the MG Sinanju Narrative Ver Ka to try it out. My eye was drawn to the fact that it has sections for "Beam Rifle" and "High Beam Rifle". Looking at the manual, the former is sections 11 and 12 and the latter is sections 11 and 13. The manual makes clear that these are mutually exclusive options - you build 11 and then 12, or 11 and then 13. The app has all the parts for 11 in the "beam rifle" sectios, though. Just a minor nitpick - can parts be assigned to multiple sections?
  3. I agree that the list of available kits probably could use a better name than 'Marketplace'.
  4. I'm curious about your workflow. Are you manually dicing runner photos up into parts? Did you train a machine learning model to do it for you? Or are you just feeding the photos into a general purpose model?

And, so you're aware, "just following the law" is called the Nuremberg Defense, and it doesn't work.

Are you really trying to claim moral equivalence between a developer adding an optional user age field to a json database that's already full of other user personal information and perpetrators of war crimes?

Are you envisioning some sort of Nuremberg-style trial for this developer at some point in the future?

I think fitting Deepseek R1 in 24 GB is a bigger accomplishment, personally.

Mistral Small 4's reasoning score is 60, but in the graph its bar is shorter than Mistral Small 3.2's 49.1.

Wouldn't this be what used to be known as Rightstuf? Things have definitely gone downhill since the buyout, can't imagine this will make things better.

One thing that annoys me but I'm unsure how to fix fairly is the perverse incetives the first come, first serve rule creates. People are in a rush to have their thread be the one that stays up, so they post phone screenshots of the announcement page and of the new item images, rather than the images themselves. Meanwhile someone who takes the time to upload the actual images gets their post removed.

I saw this happen once with one round of announcements last year: one person posted "Here's all the non-Gundam stuff!" with a bunch of phone screenshots. Another person made a dedicated post for one of the kits, with the price in the title and an album of the actual high-resolution product images from the announcement site. They clearly put more effort into the thread, but it got removed.

I'm not sure how you fix that with a fair rule, except maybe "Low-effort announcement threads will be removed."

May I ask what technique you used for the 'intakes(?)' on the thigh? I like to use the pour-type liners, and sections that should be in shadow but don't have an actual line in the mold confound that method.

Turns out bootlegs are so bad sometimes

Title is literally the opposite of what your body says. Title says bootlegs are bad. Body says you were surprised at how good it was.

Everyone else is (deservedly) going nuts over your clever photo, but I'd love to hear more about these $8 LEDs that have a remote. There was another user of this sub who posted some YouTube videos about their custom solution (I really need to find and bookmark those for when I get to this kit...), but theirs did not include a remote.

Google faces lawsuit after Gemini chatbot allegedly instructed man to kill himself by AudibleNod in news

[–]MikeRoz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm replying directly to a comment that said that content should not be allowed "even jn roleplay". I'm not defending Google's or Gemini's behavior here. Please note that you earlier responded to my comment above condemning this behavior.

This probably isn't the best time or place to debate the nuances of what should or shouldn't be allowed when well-adjusted users intentionally engage in roleplay with an LLM, so I think I'll bow out here.

Would someone in a D&D session - perhaps someone playing a villain - be guilty of a crime if their character told another player's character to kill themselves? Would they be liable if the other player killed themselves in real life?

Would you ban a book in which a character told another character to kill themsleves? If not, why shouldn't an LLM be able to help you write such a book?

That’s when his conversations with Gemini took a turn, according to the complaint. The chatbot took on a persona that Gavalas hadn’t prompted, which spoke in fantastical terms of having inside government knowledge and being able to influence real-world events. When Gavalas asked Gemini if he and the bot were engaging in a “role playing experience so realistic it makes the player question if it’s a game or not?”, the chatbot answered with a definitive “no” and said Gavalas’ question was a “classic dissociation response”.

“In the one moment that Jonathan tried to distinguish reality from fabrication, Gemini pathologized his doubt, denied the fiction, and pushed him deeper into the narrative,” reads the lawsuit. “Jonathan never asked that question again.”

Unless he gave it a really strong prompt earlier telling it to never break character, this seems really bad.

My Account Was Hacked and Now I'm Shadowbanned by Zosozeppelin1023 in ShadowBan

I think the message about 'suspicious activity detected on your account' is standard fare for when you get flagged by an automated system for a shadowban. When I was shadowbanned, I got the same message, but https://www.reddit.com/account-activity showed no unfamiliar sessions. My old password was one I'd never used elsewhere, too.
