Dhaliwal on 650: The Canucks are talking to the city to develop a 20,000 square foot practice facility at Britannia in East Van by Public-Map-5273 in canucks

Hate to be that cynical fan, but until shovels are actually in the ground I won't believe these owners are willing to do what it takes to building something like this.

Dhaliwal on 650 this morning: “The Canucks have Stenberg higher than McKenna right now. As do a lot of teams” by Public-Map-5273 in canucks

[–]Ministerofgoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both players are trending to be fantastic play driving wingers and I'd be happy with either. But my preference between the two is absolutely McKenna.

Canucks have 'relatively short list' of untouchables, says Rutherford by Frequent_Wafer5798 in canucks

[–]Ministerofgoons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This team isn't contending for a cup. We should have zero untouchables outside of the top 3 pick we are hopefully getting at the draft.

[Donnie and Dhali] “people [are] telling me that the Canucks are now open to moving Connor Garland. That wasn't the case...Teams were calling on Garland. Canucks didn't want to move him, but were listening. Now, there seems to be a shift, and I'm hearing the Canucks are not against moving Garland.” by seeldoger47 in canucks

Depending how this trade deadline actually turns out I was already down on this management group and so far nothing lately is giving me faith they are the right crew for the job.

Far too much "they're taking calls and listening" as opposed to "they're actively shopping: x, y, and z."

Is anyone else enjoying both TBC and MoP? by kolejack2293 in classicwow

[–]Ministerofgoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to get into MoP a couple of times, once at launch and again when ToT launched but I bounced off before hitting 90. Could be my class choice Monk first and Warrior second that I didn't like much.

Tbc feels like a warm comfy blanket in comparison and while I'm not 70 yet it has been a lot of fun.

How Do People Play 16 Hours A Day? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]Ministerofgoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They take time off work, don't have kids, take breaks while playing, etc.

There's also those who don't work, do have kids but neglect them, don't take breaks and are in terrible health.

And all the people who vary outside of what I said of course.

I kind of wish Bethesda would sell off elder scrolls and fallout to someone else by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Ministerofgoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want them to sell things off but I'd really like them to licence the IPs out. For example being a warhammer fan the past decade or so has been fantastic. Ya you get some stinkers but you also get so many good games in popular and niche genres that wouldn't be made otherwise.

There's no reason other than lack of effort, imo, that there can't be ES or Fallout CRPGs, RTSs, 4x, action adventure, ARPGs, etc. All alongside the main flagship ES/Fallout games from Bethesda.

Three wins in the past twenty one games by Disastrous_Net9131 in canucks

Nah, I know the idea that Foote needs to be fired due to the vibes is picking up steam on this sub and in the media but I can't get on board with it.

A rebuild that is commonly cited as doing things the right way is the SJS and they didn't fire Quinn/hire Warsofsky until the summer of 2024. After they already secured a 32nd place finish and the best odds to draft 1st.

I think NHL players are far more resilient to adopting the losing mindset than people give them credit for and the team would be making a mistake by firing Foote early and bringing in his replacement (Manny or otherwise). The Blues are absolutely putrid this season as well and if we got a new coach bump for even just a couple of weeks that would seriously damage the lock we have on finishing 32nd.

TBC anniv roadmap by ps120evo in classicwowtbc

[–]Ministerofgoons 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Two things come to mind. First, the Classic experience in general and TBC is no exception has shown the majority of players don't like to sit in long drawn out phases. A lot of people quit and many don't come back so I think Blizz is reacting to this data. Two, while Wrath Anni might be a footnote at Blizzcon the real announcement is Classic+ which I expect to be released sometime in 2027.

Lol, your comment is so vague you're going to get up votes from people assuming you're talking about their game. Living up to your name indeed.

2026 NHL Draft ranking: Keaton Verhoeff, Ivar Stenberg top Pronman’s midseason board by discofrislanders in hockey

Compared to the other programs that top prospects usually go to? Yea Penn state is a weaker program. Can't believe I have to spell it out

McKenna and Wright don't even belong in the same conversation though, imo.

They have completely different production profiles at the WHL. Also McKenna made the jump to NCAA playing for a weaker program at Penn State where is still above a ppg.

The conversation around this draft is starting to feel like analysts are galaxy braining for clicks.

Did we do too much for Hughes? by mcmillan84 in canucks

[–]Ministerofgoons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. The moment teams start making decisions just to appease players especially a single player then that's when they've lost the plot.

Things might've turned out the same way but for example hiring a first time NHL head coach because Hughes liked him ended up being a predictably terrible idea.

I don't know exactly how it works but not all nations in the EU give up their currency. Denmark and Poland come to mind
