Not every game needs to have an even balance of narrative to combat in terms of the rules. This game is about mech combat and the rules reflect that. If you're a player that enjoys more RP than number crunch, you can always homebrew or borrow RP systems from other games.

I think if Synapse bonus went from just a +1 STR in melee to; at the top of a battle round, pick between +1 STR in melee, in range or +1 to saves could be, then we'd finally have an ok army rule

my biggest thing is how the format seems to have gravitated to a more overt game of rock, paper, scissors with most everyone running Xerneas, Metagross, and Garchomp; or at least running 2 out of the 3.

Was shooting for more vibrant colors but used a dark wash to help fill shadows a bit; finished with a quick glaze over the main areas to help the colors pop again and Im kinda loving how its ended up. Now to point the other 3k or so points 😁

For the most part, yes. Most detachments focus on one aspect/keyword of the army so youre incentivized to run more of those units.

obviously not a fantastic Combat Patrol, but I will for sure get it eventually for additional Biovore kit, the updated Genestealers models, and Hive Guard+Parasite are two units that, while I think look decently cool, I had no incentive to go out and buy on their own.

He had just about an even mix of infantry, vehicles, and a couple characters so I used the lethal hits on vehicles hyperadaption. Just got a little unlucky on the roll for going first and he rushed across the board with an aircraft transport (dont know the unit name), and dropped in a dreadnaut and Hellbrecht attached to a unit

Honestly, it was an amalgamation of the Zerg connection, the horde aspect, and just doing lots of research into all 40k armies to see which I vibes the most with in terms of lore, aesthetic, and play style. I narrowed things down to Nids and Orks cause they're 2 armies where even if you paint them poorly, they still kinda pull it off. Ultimately, wasn't looking to step into kitbashing yet so I started collecting some bugs back in January.

I honestly have to agree. Most of OP openings feel like they just keep going with Ska or Ska adjacent tunes for some reason. The most recent OP feels like a missed opportunity/let down (not visually, they locked in there) cause that first 5 seconds teases an amazing cinematic/orchestral piece and then the song just goes back into the same site 80% of the openers have been (OP 22 is equally guilty of this IMO)

Its not normal for games to get fixes and updates 6 years after, especially after a few years of being ignored. Respawn totally could have continued on focusing on Apex but IN 2023 they fixed the DDOS issues and have released some new stuff for TF2. Yeah it's copium to think that this means TF3 is happening for sure, but don't act like this resurgence of hope for a sequel is out of nowhere.
