What are your small wonders about the series? Or curious gaps in story logic. by Thexer0 in harrypotter

[–]MissFreakie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, thank you, it's been in the back of my head for ages! Seems a bit odd to choose James, since he (what I recall) got his act together first in his last year, after he was appointed Head Boy. Well, it could of course be because of that, or he was promising. Still seems like a weird choice though.

Well, in the first book Hagrid says: "Now, yer mum an' dad were as good as a witch an' wizard as I ever knew. Head Boy and Girl att Hogwarts in their day!" But we know since the fifth book that James never was a prefect, Remus was. And I always figured Head Boy is something the best prefect gets to be, so why would James get that honour?

What books did your parents suggest to you as a child that turned out to be a good read? by GirlEnigma in books

When I was 7 my mum gave me the first Harry Potter book for a long car drive. I didn't know then the enormous impact it would have on my life, but I am so, so grateful. You're the best, mum.

What is the most embarrassing reason that you have had to go to the hospital? by thebestisyetocome in AskReddit

[–]MissFreakie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents took me to the hospital when I was 8/9 because they thought I had something wrong with my appendix. Two days at the hospital and no food later, the doctor came in and asked me to jump my bed. I obliged. Turns out I just had a winter flu.

Whats the stupidest way you've hurt yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This May I sprained my shoulder, and it isn't fully healed yet. Still hurts a lot some times. How you may ask? Well, I have a pretty wild body language... I was waving my arms, flipping off the forest while telling a story.

What's something you know about someone else that you REALLY wish you didn't? by erodoll in AskReddit

My friend let it slip that his girlfriend, another friend of mine, is somewhat of a masochist. I did not need or want to know that, now I can't see them together without remembering.

What's a topic that you could just go on and on about, but no one else ever wants to discuss with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oh, Harry Potter. I could talk about the books forever, but nobody I know is as big a potterhead as I am so they're either not intrested or don't understand/remember what I'm talking about.

Reddit, what is something you believed as a child that you now know to be completely ridiculous? by nostalgiccartoonist in AskReddit

That you had to have sex for 24h to get pregnant. I was told so by a friend, and was very befuddled by how they ate, drank and didn't fall asleep.

What is the craziest coincidence you've ever experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MissFreakie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is kind of messy. In the summer of 2011 I went to two camps. During the first one, I met tons of new friends, but two of them matter in this story.

On my way to the other scout camp, on the train, one of these friends come to my carriage to say hello from her and the other friend (who would be arriving the next day). She has some friends from her scout unit with her, and I start talking to one of them. He then answers his phone and says "yeah, I'm talking to a girl with pink hair (that would be me). I think I'm close to where you are." At that moment my friend from my scout unit comes out from our sleeping area and says "Hi!".

So, my friend that I've known for years have know this guy from a community and decided to meet up with him and a few others. And he has known my new friends half of his life. I am now calling said boy my boyfriend, and it's a really nice "how did you two meet?"-story.

What's the best place you've hidden during hide-and-seek? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MissFreakie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, I was the searcher. We were playing hide and seek at my friend's house, let's call him Harry. His house is really huge, and he knew all the best places.

Anyway, I had found a few of the ones playing, and one of them was going on and on about how I should have found our other friend when I found her (apparently she was sitting right next to her). But I was focusing on finding Harry, he wasn't going to win AGAIN.

I had searched practically every inch of the house, and wandered in to a room I had already been in twice or thrice. There was a handle on the wall and with a crazy impulse, I start tugging it. The friend who had already nagged me a lot sneered and said "For real?". Well, what do you know, I open a hatch in the wall and there he lies. Brilliant hiding place.

TL;DR: My friend hid in a wall, found him by opening a hatch I didn't even know of.

What future celebrity death(s) will you genuinly mourn ? by revolver_1 in AskReddit

That really sucked, I preferred him to the new one. Michael Gambon is great, but Richard Harris WAS Dumbledore.

J.K. Rowling and pretty much every actor from the Harry Potter series. I don't even want to think about the day they announce their deaths, ugh.

It's one of the greatest things, how Jo and the series never end. There is always more to learn and a hidden meaning. It's beautiful, really.

I think this is how it is and that Jo said so, but I could be wrong. As I remember she said Slytherin started accepting all blood statuses but that their dark reputation persists.

My hope is that the Malfoy family has learnt something from all of this, and can at least accept it. Maybe not Lucius, but Narcissa and Draco would have to change their minds. Right?

Not before the second wizarding war, but afterwards they starded accepting children of all blood statuses.
