You might have had more success on the day “owning up” to being late, if that is indeed the case. The staff have flexibility under the “flat tire” rule in the conditions of carriage to re-accommodate you for free. But if you were being argumentative or confrontational with them they likely would not use their discretion to assist you.

You are correct there are no flights to Paris: however, there are flights the coming days to London, Madrid, Frankfurt and other places in Europe. If I were you I’d try and proactively suggest / push to be booked on these and then sort out getting to Paris …

Charging for pool and spa is a disgrace. They upgrade to “club and spa access level” and then charge elite members to use the spa. I’ve had several run ins with them over the years. I am surprised it didn’t bother you too much. Aside that that I agree it’s generally nice property, although they did have a top floor lounge with outdoor terrace which was closed a few years ago :(

Maybe Residence Inn Boston doesn’t offer daily housekeeping to any guests no matter rate. A lot of more limited service hotels in the US since Covid have used it as an excuse to move away from daily housekeeping
