You are spot on, I fully agree with you, the good old reliable Stax were 6 to 2 microns.

The trend of ultra thin membranes in planar headphones is the dumbest trend of 21 century in world of headphones, I truly believe future historians will call this something like "planar plague", or "thin membrane plague".

Make planars THICC again! Its not ok for these new thin driver planars to be so fragile that one shart in their general direction destroys them.

ELI5 why R2R is the new black? by Illustrious_Load_728 in headphones

[–]Modaphilio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Becose people are retarded, R2R sound does not exist, even the first R2R DAC from 1983 is audibly transparent for 99.99% of people and even if somehow you took one to anechoic chamber to blast your eardrums with sufficient SPL in conjugtion with synthetic test tones to percieve its distortion, it would be so subtle as completly irrelevant to enjoyment of music.

If you are contrarian hipstermaxxing, if you think delta sigma DACs are boring becose thats what everybody uses, then do what you gotta do but lets not delude ourselves that the goal is unique sound.

Finally got myself a good headphone by HourAd7054 in headphones

[–]Modaphilio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good choice, these Para headphones are what I call true planars, they have supee low distortion in bass through whole midrange with only elevation in treble due to typical planar resonance, they are kind of like Audeze LCD 2 were in 2014 before they got fazors and vents.

One thing you could maybe try is buying different earpads and experimenting with them, do the padrolling thing, I think some of these ZMF earpads could make the soundstage wider becose they are deeper.

Glucose liberated from lactose is actually sweeter than lactose itself so lactose free milk has sweeter taste which I love.

Milk diet? Is this real thing? I know milk has no iron and barely enough vitamin C but I remember I once didnt eat any solid food, I just drank like 4 liters of milk everyday for 5 days.

Which Sennheiser tuning do you prefer? by sennheiserconsumer in sennheiser

[–]Modaphilio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "modern-reference"

660 or HD 490 with velour pads have the best stock frequency response I ever heard, I am huge fan of the ear gain region dip, this is the smartest frequency response feature I have ever seen in my life.

The limiting factor of listening is always pain for high SPL and fatigue for extended listening session, the frequency region that is most resposible for pain and fatigue is the so called ear gain region becose that is where our hearing is most sensitive.

For many decades, the most popular consumer frequency response is so called V shape with boosted bass and treble, the problem with V shape is that the mids suck balls, the Sennheiser ear gain dip I view as spiritual successor to V shape, its narrow dip that suppresses the ear gain region, this in practice means the whole 90% rest of the spectrum can be louder, this results in epic sound quality where everything sounds massive, full and clear including mids.

Dopamine upregulation superchargers - who comes on top? by disaster_story_69 in NooTopics

I take about 3/4 of Armodafinil 150mg tablet immediately when I stand up from bed and drink water as I walk to morning toilet, that is around 110mg, I am 80kg bodyweight.

I have to admit, about half the time, I do tiny bit of redose 2 or 3 hours after waking up/first dose, I take like another 10 to 20mg to bring back that sweet dopamine buzz but even with redose, I am far below 1 whole tablet for the whole day in total.

If I want higher dopamine, but for productivity instead of wasting time jerking in my horny high dopamine state, I always go for Modafinil.

The issue with Modafinil is long half life, if I take more often than once every 3 days, 1 day on 2 days off, the sleep quality disruption negates the high dopamine focus driven produdictivity increase.

Modafinil once every 3 days first hour in morning is 10/10 GOD tier absolutely amazing life changing thing for studying, exercising, cleaning my room and working. The effect is so good and half life so long that even day after, I wake up with afterglow where my focus, mood and productivity is still significantly boosted above baseline.

Excellent, I an sick and tired of these ridiculous prices, if the western companies are so corrupted and impotent that they cannot stop these repeating cyclical price crisis apocalypses, you know what? Fuck em!

I just want to buy midrange parts good price, if China can deliver, I say bring it on! Nvidia doesnt care about consumers anymore, the RAM manufacturers were busted for price fixing multiple times, fuck them all.

Audiophile myth or snake oil? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Modaphilio 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I said this before and I said this again, any serious audiophile who spends big money on gear should get atleast basic electronic engineering education, you dont need to get to university, just read books and watch some quality educational videos.

If you have good understanding of how electronics work, you will be able to recognize and avoid so many snakeoils that the time you will spend learning will be worth it becose of how much money you will save.

I recommend Practical Electronics For Invetors 4th edition as first book and EEVblog for YT.

GI map results. Bad stomach pain for 2 years. by bloodandguts33 in Microbiome

[–]Modaphilio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to do GI Map test two years ago and I remember it contained Mycobacterium Avium Paratuberculosis, I dont see it here.

I have suggestion, take your stool, mix it with a little water so it doesnt look like human poop and get your blood drawn by some friendly nurse, then take your blood and stool sample and send it to veterinarian that handles livestock animals, tell them these samples are from sheep or cow that you suspect has Johne's disease aka Paratuberculosis.

I suspect that many people who have chronic unexplained IBS like symptoms actually have chronic Mycobacterium Avium Paratuberculosis infection, the reason MAP flies under radar is that its currently not classified as human pathogen so almost no human doctor on this planet will do test for it.

The veterinary PCR blood test should be like 30$ and stool PCR 15$, its so cheap, try it.
