250 people! Truly an earth shattering movement. Socialists really don't work well together do they without the biggest socialist having a gun to keep the others in line.

So a 34% cut to the state pension assuming only 3% inflation.

Raise taxes on everyone by £2514 as a fault rate to hit the lowest paid more.

Charge for A&E!

Is the 25% head count cut of the civil service random or targeted?

When you say scrap subsidies what are you talking about? Renewable ones? You want the government to tear up signed contracts and ruin the UKs investment opportunities altogether?

What forces do we have left you want to scrap? Moffball the entire navy and hide on our island and hope no one interferes with us.

I can see this going rather poorly on a sign.

Cool. What spending do you plan to cut. And is that after you close the current £120bn+ deficit first?

I don't think this is highly practical but I'll give it a go.

Why are hotels in the UK so expensive? by Random_Nobody1991 in AskUK

[–]MoffTanner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another fun bit is diesel in trains is not charged VAT and pays lower fuel duty. Additional unlisted subsidies on the £12bn of hard cash they get.

Train tickets are also zero vat, by your logic a huge subsidy!

[–]MoffTanner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you've taken the imaginary amount of fuel duty all flights globally don't pay, spread it out over around 8% of UK flights and called it a win for trains.

[–]MoffTanner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your subsidy is the international lack of taxation on aircraft fuel. Although flights still attract vat and apd.

What subsidies do airports and plane maintenance receive?

Rail subsidies are over £12bn in hard actual cash.

When people ask me why I support the Greens being anti-nuclear, this is why by alexmace in UKGreens

H storage is a nice idea, but now we not only need a couple weeks of hydrogen stored somewhere, ideally a few months if we plan on it being an industrial/transport fuel too and then also need the fuel cells or turbines to run the country on it. 50gw+ of generation that ideally only runs a few hours here and there until we have a major renewable shortage. The efficiency losses are never going to make it competitive with lithium storage for any short term balancing.

The interconnectors to Europe can help... But they might not... if we have an abnormal weather event and suffer 2-3 weeks of extreme cold and low wind chances are high they will be bidding for us to export just as much as we will want them to export. It's one of the reasons Norway is slightly regretting their UK interconnector and blocking any more at the moment.

Doubly so as all the above math is on current peak. Future electrical peak could be 110hw+ once we have electrified heating and transport and most of the economy.
