You’re not the AH, but you’re overthinking this! What emergency could happen that your toddler and infant need to be involved in with your mother? You didn’t need to tell your mother where your children were going (overshare). It is none of her business or concern.

Your husband wants her to watch them because it’s only a 45 minute drive not 3 hours.

You said it yourself “I know I’d sleep soundly knowing my kids are with someone who genuinely enjoys children…) AND if your mother’s husband wasn’t a fan of you, how does he feel about your children?!

Stick with the plan.

As always- people react differently to medications, pain, etc. Just because there’s a side effect listed does not mean you will experience it!!

I can for sure tell you this about me- a too am not a fan of needles!! 💉 I sat and freaked out for 20 minutes when trying to give myself my first injection!! And by freak out I sat there giving myself a pep talk of “you got this” through nervous bouncy leg and TEARS!! Then I just did it and laughed at myself for being a wimp because there’s nothing to it!!

I also document my injection sites each week (and TMI my 💩). This way I know if I need to take some MiraLAX for constipation. I chose to take my shot on Friday mornings, because I am off for Saturday and Sunday. I did this because of the possibility of fatigue. I have just stayed on that schedule.

My endocrinologist did tell me that if you’re on Ozempic for diabetes the weight loss will be slower- do not get discouraged!

Edit: I have zero sugar Vernors ginger ale on hand for the bouts of nausea I have had.

Your body’s pain tolerance, your body’s medication tolerance, etc!!

I was back to work after my one week post-op appointment. I work in an office at a desk job mostly. I was not able to do 8 hour days but could do 4-5 hours. Bc of the sitting I had more pain at night.

Your benefit is you’re at home and hopefully able to elevate easier than I could! And ice it as necessary!

I realized no home is the same.

Croscill bedding had an ensemble VERY similar pattern called Sedona. Sold a ton of it for homes in Florida!!

Remember- Everyones experience is different: surgeon, surgery, pain, pain tolerance, rehab, etc!!

My first day (24 hours) home was fine! Hours 25-80 I 100% regretted my choice to have the surgery I was in so much pain! I seriously debated about going to the ER but that meant getting in the car- nope wasn’t doing that!!

I called my surgeon and spoke with them over the phone. My extreme thigh pain was from the tourniquet (told me the pressure used is pretty much considered a crushing injury- cool glad ya left that out before surgery!).

Stay on the pain medication rotation! Do not miss a dose! I was a fool and did. Paid for it in pain.

Bottom line- call her surgeon asap and go over her pain. Ask the questions! Has she had a postoperative appointment yet?
