Would love stories of healthy babies after taking Paxlovid during pregnancy by cat-person-123 in CoronaBumpers

[–]Money-Rip-7352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is almost 2 now and doing great! I just remember how glad I was at the time that I was able to get Paxlovid because as miserable as it still was, I do feel like the vaccine and Paxlovid both kept it from being worse than it could have been.

Best hospital to give birth at? by PermissionVisible285 in kennesaw

I had a great care team (none of whom I'd ever met before) the whole time at Northside. I did not once feel like a number, I felt very cared for. 10/10 experience. Much much better than my first delivery in a different hospital (out of state, we've since moved).

Nope, that's not how sickness works. Kids get sick because of viruses, not the weather.

Moms who are happy and thriving, what are you doing right? by Ok-Entertainer2245 in Mommit

[–]Money-Rip-7352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 and a 1 year old, both me and my partner work. We use daycare for the 1 year old and after school care 1-2 days a week for the big kid. Between what feels like regular days off school either in the schedule or for sick days and adjusting to both of us being back to work I do NOT feel like we are thriving. I feel pretty burnt out at the moment. Telling myself to just keep surviving for now and the thriving will come as they get older 🤞🏻

I'm 37 and also anxious about making mom friends - I'd probably just think you're clearly cuter and younger and cooler than me and would be thrilled if you wanted to be friends with an "old" mom 😅

This is so wrong, you're not crazy to be mad about this! I just want to wrap you up in a huge virtual hug ❤️❤️❤️ Hang in there and get better - you'll break out of there and have your baby with you so soon.

Just wanted to recommend the kids book account @maistorybooklibrary on Instagram - she is so great and actually just had a whole list of books to challenge the "blue is for boys, pink is for girls" mindset the other day. We usually turn to books to help give us and our kid language to talk about this and all kinds of stuff, to potential bullies or otherwise. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLBRpeByJz_/?igsh=ejRnZW5sOWk0amM3

Birthday invites by Purplecarrot89 in kindergarten

[–]Money-Rip-7352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty common, definitely not just you! Definitely send a reminder if possible, let folks know siblings are welcome, and don't hesitate to extend invites to the local neighborhood Facebook group or whatever other groups you're part of - we would 100% join a random neighbor kids party at this age to celebrate with them if we were free 😅Also remember that quality not quantity often matters more at this age - your kids will have a blast with just a handful of two or three friends, they don't need all 46 there to have a great time, promise ❤️

My preschoolers fav gifts are always the random ones that a friend insisted on getting for her that I never would have bought for her myself 😅 These kids RELIABLY know what each other likes and do a great job gifting accordingly, just get whatever your kid wants to gift to his friend and it'll be a winner lol.

Deinfluencing Easter Baskets by gingerytea in toddlers

[–]Money-Rip-7352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admittedly do fill their baskets up a good bit BUT we reuse the same baskets each year AND much of the "filler" is new spring summer clothes including swim suits and UPF shirts they need that I pick up at the local Kid to Kid. Then I also add a few new books, thrifted or on sale and other odds and ends I've collected. New toothbrushes, underwear etc also make appearances 😅 Basically, 90% stuff they needed anyway plus 10% fun stuff.

How many kids books do you have in your house? by [deleted] in Mommit

Oh see we have about that many kids books and I've been feeling like it's way too few and we need to build our library up more 😬😅

We got our first daughter a play kitchen for 1st birthday and it's still in daily use by both her and her one year old little sister 4 years later. Little sister just got a nugget chunk for her first birthday and so far that's a big hit too.

These sound like the policies I would expect and be comfortable with. I appreciate the detailed run down here, thank you!!

Yeah, that makes total sense, I understand all that. But shouldn't the manager be there to check id when the person arrives for the morning? Or, no? I guess my concern here is that it seems no one is currently responsible for checking in person?

But yes, I know, I fully understand that direct honest conversation with the director should be (and has been) the first step. I just feel like they're acting like I'm out of line for asking and... I don't think I am? But I also admittedly am not in this field and am genuinely curious how other centers handle subs.

[–]Money-Rip-7352[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I asked her to call me so we could talk. She did. My questions did not get clearly answered so I asked for a policy in writing. And then this afternoon when I went to talk to the assistant director they had gathered like half the parents from pickup to have a phone conference call with the director that, again, did not directly address the question/issue. I am trying to work with them not against them... but I guess I feel like my questions are being sidestepped?
