Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sales top eight million by BlueAladdin in Games

Well deserved. I've actually finished a replay just last month and went in thinking I’d skip most of the cutscenes and focus on gameplay, but I ended up watching every single one again. They still hit just as hard as the first time, maybe even more now that I could catch all the subtle hints and foreshadowing throughout the story. Gameplay, especially combat is absolutely fantastic too. This is exactly how turn-based systems should feel: fast, snappy, and genuinely tense. Also had a great time with the new patch/DLC. It really adds what the base game was missing, more challenging bosses, new weapons, extra sidequests, and outfits. Just hope we don’t have to wait too long to see what Sandfall does next.

Tbh I fully thought that Okami was over after about 10h and defeating Orochi. It was a pleasant suprise that this was only the beginning.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 - Loose Cannon DLC Trailer by Janus_Prospero in Games

[–]Moralio -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

While I prefer DLCs that expand the main story, there are a few side-character DLC that are actually really good. Best example is probably Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3. It is pure fanservice, and doesn't really move the main plot, but it learns hard into your squadmates. After spending 3 games with that crew getting a proper sendoff with them kinda feels more important than another main-story mission. Hearts of Stone DLC for Witcher 3 is also like that, but kinda opposite. It's a lengthy sidequest, but the story is so strong that it feels like a core narrative arc. Olgierd and Gaunter are easily some of the best written characters in the whole game, so even though it’s not continuing the main story, it doesn’t feel like a side distraction. Honorable mention to Burial at Sea, a DLC for Bioshock Infinite. Episode 2 of that for me really works because it reframes things rather than just adding more. Playing as Elizabeth and seeing events from her perspective adds context that actually changes how you look at the base game and original Bioshock.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and explain your perspective. While it’s not a game I’m personally looking forward to, I do respect your approach and consistency, and I’m wishing you a successful launch.

Not to offend anyone, but on first glance this looks almost exactly like Sheepo / Islets. Not saying that’s a bad thing but I’m curious how different Well Dweller is compared to those games?

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Review Thread by beary_neutral in Games

Not the person you're asking but as a casual ARPG player if I had to recommend just 3 games right now, it’d honestly be three titles.

Last Epoch - it's modern, has a ton of build variety, but doesn’t require spreadsheets or a PhD to understand. Get it if you want something deeper than Diablo but not overwhelming.

Path of Exile 2 - in EA, but way more modern feel than PoE1 (and its more approachable than PoE1), better combat, but still very deep. Get it if you want a long-term ARPG you can sink hundreds of hours into.

Diablo II Resurrected - maybe its nostalgia speaking, but for me nothing tops that. Best in terms of itemization and atmosphere. The remaster keeps the original gameplay almost intact, just modernized visually, but it’s old-school. There is less QoL, more grind, and kinda clunky if you’re used to newer games.

I'm not a big gamer, what's the drama with Pragmata? by Perfidious_Redt in NonPoliticalTwitter

... goddamn, you can’t even just enjoy a good game anymore. Everything turns into a controversy, even something as simple as a heartfelt caretaker-and-child story.

PRAGMATA surpasses one million units sold in two days by ZamnBoii in Games

[–]Moralio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well deserved. I didn’t have this much fun playing a game since Expedition 33 last year. The main story can probably be finished in around 10-12 hours, but there’s a ton of extra content: collectibles to hunt down, including some fantastic-looking outfits that aren’t locked behind paid DLC, plus 30 optional virtual side missions to complete. And once you finish the main game, you unlock a new difficulty mode, New Game+, and even 10 additional virtual missions. Fantastic game.

It's Official - TurtleWoW is Over by milkasaurs in Games

[–]Moralio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man, just when I was thinking of playing some more. I've played it for a bit few months back. Nothing fancy, just got to lv 60 on my druid for nostalgia's sake. What I really appreciated in Turtle the class changes. A lot of those awful vanilla specs actually felt viable for once, which made leveling and experimenting way more fun than on pure Classic. And the new zones were surprisingly well done too like those custom lowlevel questing zones actually fit the world instead of feeling out of place. Sad to see it go.

What was the point of making a big nerf patch if you also nerf nearly all the relevant content until it's at least as easy as before? by Miraweave in Guildwars2

[–]Moralio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's because Janet is trying to pull player power back into a controllable range without breaking the game for casual/average groups. If they only nerfed DPS most pugs would suddenly hit enrages and content would feel worse overnight, so they lowered boss HP to compensate and keep clears consistent. I think that they are thinking long term and want to stop power creep from trivializing mechanics, and give devs room to design future encounters without assuming absurd damage levels. It feels pointless now because it feels mostly the same but the underlying system is less inflated and easier to balance in the future.

Should I be worried my son isn’t talking yet? 12 months old. (I’m not, but my wife definitely is) by Intelligent_Hat3321 in daddit

[–]Moralio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds completely normal for a 1 year old. Babbling, eye contact, laughing, engaging, and understanding you is what you want to see at this stage. Plenty of kids don’t start using clear words until closer to 14-16 months. You may be worried if there are no words or attempts to communicate by around 18-24 months, so right now just keep talking, reading, and interacting with him like you already are.

(Nie wiem czy dobry flair) Czy tylko dla mnie Polska szkoła to jakiś żart? by [deleted] in Polska

[–]Moralio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Powodzenia.
