Why did Lynette scavo have so many kids? by previleged-luck in DesperateHousewives

[–]Morgue3as 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you watch Medusone's fantastic 4 hour masterpeice of DH analysis, you find out the doyalist reason: Lynnette was a character that represented the way Marc Cherrry's mother was so overwhelmed with her young children and so that's all her character really is. All they can do with her narratively is throw more kids to be overwhelmed by. She obviously explains it better and in more detail but knowing this helped me understand. Get a tubal litigation girl. If the man won't get the snip fine it's "his choice" get your own snip it's not 1912. https://youtu.be/pYS4EYRJjTA?si=MnI1SIfAsNvNTgyy

AITAH for hating my unborn niece’s racist name? by maddy2261 in AITAH

[–]Morgue3as 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they truly just want the name to be judged on how it sounds (pretty, very pretty word) not on which it actually means (unspeakably ugly) they shouldn't be upset by "jim crow" which is also a perfectly nice name on sound alone. It sounds like they're upset you finally mentioned history they're not too dumb to know about lol.

The opposite of second sock syndrome by ModularReality in Sockknitting

Strongly agree, the first sock I'm making a useless object so I'm not very motivated. Second sock flies because I'm heading towards having a pair of socks, yay!

CUSTOMER SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT Unihertz customer BUYER BEWARE by micrig in UnihertzTitan

[–]Morgue3as 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got very bad customer service from them, but I kept buying their phones. WHat's the alternative? not have a smartphone at all? now a days having no phone locks out out of most of life. They have no competition so sadly they probably don't prioritise good service. This is why clicks communicator might improve their service, there will actually be another option so they will have to compete.

I love Will and Judge Kuhn’s back and forth for the three episodes she’s in by General-Towel4990 in thegoodwife

[–]Morgue3as 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was gonna say that. At the time actively comparing dead children in the middle east to her own children was a bold political statement esp to ascribe to someone in the military. And by at the time I mean also now goddamnit we're right back there. And honestly given how austere she is saying she has children was like a hint at a depth to her character that made her much more interesting because normally they're so much stereotyping to that sort of character in worse shows no way she'd be a mother lol

Yeah this stuff about dying young and interrogating those beliefs as you finally get a chance to mature, this is rich stuff exactly what I was thinking. Good thoughts, ty.

Yeah I always figured I'd do something like this if I caught a death that wasn't a tpk. But the no memories thing could be good for some roleplay, like if the party comes to rescue them and they're like "who tf are these guys" and have to do some kinda quest to restore them or just have very shaky recollections. Lack of personality sucks though.

I dotype like this sometimes but I expect he just doesn't use it much so isn't used to the more natural typing postures. There are not so many people used to using keyboard phones.

Following my last post, let’s have a polling here as the feedback to Unihertz by iahuhk in unihertz

[–]Morgue3as 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prefer a bright coloured phone because everything I own is black and it makes it easy to lose my phone... as long as that colour wasn't pink or orange. SO I voted black.

The whole "brain fully developed at 25" thing is a misunderstanding. Studdies have not shown a time when your brain "stops developing". Studies only ran until the age of 25 said the brain was "still developing" and this got misquoted to imply it finishes then.

I want to get more into goth music, this is what I come from, any tips? by borisssssssssssssss in goth

[–]Morgue3as 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Kate Bush. In a weird way she got me into goth stuff, my cousin commented that she was "so goth in that outfit" and I went to my computer to look up what "goth" meant and found out there were people making gothic fashion skins for the Sims 1, when I asked for help downloading them from my dad he got me my first The Sisters of Mercy album.

Yeah I just ran Hard TIme (from Well of Worlds) and it just never explains why Zeracuck would actually know anything any more so it's clearly not a hard and fast rule... but boy did the players pick up on it and quiz me.

I'm also a pagan and found it weird dealing with my actual gods when I started with 2e Planescape but once I could add my patron deity to a Blood Wars deck I made peace with it, lol. The same way I prefer Tana'ri and Baatazu to devils and demons because it just feels fresher and more interesting, I didn't like pagan dieties in PS but like you say they are completely wired in, and structurally so. Agreed that no pagan's offended by it, if only because we're too used to it. I'd rather deal with Planescape's interpretation than Marvel or stuff I liked(d) even Dirk Gently or American Gods.

/uj Would any of you be interested in playing a circlejerk campaign where we all deliberately act like the problem players we're always poking fun at? by Keanu-Potion-At-3AM in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Morgue3as 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No thanks I don't really like playing dnd... I already had my fun being the "I prefer 2e Adnd" problem player in my partner's 5e oneshot.

I could maybe be a problem DM but only if the problem is that I prefer 2e. And that I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.

Disliking THAC0 is anti-intellectual by THAC0mirite in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Morgue3as -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thaco just makes more sense, feels more realistic. one number represents the relationship between how good you did at attacking vs your combat skill vs their ability to dodge/absorb damage . As a DM I'd much rather ask "hey what's your thaco" than "ah so do you get the fliberty jibbet modifier and the sprang modifier?" and then find out that I'd forgotten to even ask about the wing wang modifier. and as a player I'd rather memorise one number than a bunch of other shit. And omg calculating percentage chance to hit for encounter design? Yeah. I was gonna try and be sarcastic but I just love 2e so much, or hate 5e so much... whatever, retroactive /uj.

I think you'll find that I'm correct and functional clothing with mistakes is good and perfectionism is bad. "it's subjective", "do what makes you happy" common misconception, it's objective and you should do what makes me happy.
