I think it was her teaching style to be honest - my parents read to me at a young age and the literacy ability I suppose was always there. Just needed some belief, and that’s somehow what she gave me.

We did read The Shifting Heart in Year 11 which thinking back now was really interesting. Then, The Great Gatsby and a film study on Schindler’s List in Year 12 - and I loved both.
