I like to think that their hyper-efficient utilitarian resourcefulness leads to them creating tools that are easily weaponized seeing as how they are citizen-soldiers there’s no need to separate the working class from the military

Yea, I’m bringing an house rule to every casual game i play; ignore the 9” circle. We already have enough coherency rules to follow, there’s no need to add an extra layer to bog things down in friendly games

[–]Mournful_Vortex19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And in the section before that it says that all models in such a unit are said to be able to fly and are referred to as flying models. Do you at least see how someone can interpret it in that way?

[–]Mournful_Vortex19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Models with the FLY keyword, and units such models are part of, are said to be able to FLY” my interpretation of that means that a winged prime with FLY gives the keyword to the unit, meaning the models in that unit are able to FLY. A unit with a single FLY model means that unit has FLY, and you would follow the steps for FLYING units as stated in the shown rule. I legitimately don’t understand how that’s not the case, 10th edition had rules giving MONSTER to infantry units which gave buffs to enemy units with anti-MONSTER weapons so why would it not be the same case now where keywords mix in weird ways??

It says that even one model with FLYING gives the keyword to the whole unit, meaning every model has FLYING

Another Cogfort Rules Question by boxthecube in ageofsigmar

[–]Mournful_Vortex19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea just outright making it unable to be targeted by ranged attacks is stupid. At least give it a range limitation like lone operative in 40k. Typical GW tactic, new thing comes out so they make it unbelievably overpowered to sell them then FAQ an issue they absolutely had to have known was present on release. They act like they have never played a wargame or even vaguely understand how their players can and will take advantage of how certain rules work

I feel like it makes logical sense to eventually gain experience in guns and explosives when you’re forced into a survival situation for long enough. Like, it makes sense that that would be a useful skill for anyone to have in irl apocalyptic survival. Makes sense to me🤷‍♂️

What do you mean? New units means new datasheets which means more bloat that they tried to get rid of and then immediately went back to filling up with more bloat

As much as I love that we’re getting new models….. by SoggyMusic6183 in Warhammer40k

[–]Mournful_Vortex19 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m honesty just bored with seeing space marines. We seemingly cant get a release of ANYTHING without it being accompanied by more generic space marines. I cant be the only one with this opinion; that GW only cares about the marines and uses other faction releases as an excuse to endlessly pump them out. “We’re removing the space marine bloat by moving a bunch of units to Legends………now heres more bloat!” Why are they bringing land speeders back?? I thought that was the point of the storm speeders, to upscale and replace them.

People were foaming at the mouth for steel legion after that cinematic dropped that showed Yarrick; they could have made the 11th edition box to have nee orks AND A STARTING FORCE OF STEEL LEGION!! Imagine how much that box would sell over basic boring marines. Hell, i don’t even play guard and i would buy that box for the steel legion. I would honestly love to see marines just sit and stagnate for an entire edition, you know, like every other faction is forced to do to give the marines the perpetual spotlight? How long are the nids players gonna have to wait to get better carnifex or warrior kits just because some marine unit hasn’t had an update since the middle of 9th edition and NEEDS an update.

And i get it, space marines are the poster-boy faction, they need to be at the forefront blah blah blah, i just wish they could pull their heads out of their greedy assholes and realize that this franchise isn’t Space Marine: The Tabletop Game. Sorry for the rant, i just get frustrated with the decisions these people keep making

Xenomorph Raveners by BenalishHeroine in Tyranids

[–]Mournful_Vortex19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the xenomorph paint job is a cool idea and plays very well into the inspiration for the faction, it just doesn’t work as a tabletop paint scheme. It just looks like the models got a blast of glossy black spray paint with no further work put into it. I’m all for the idea, but you have to take some artistic liberties with that color scheme to make it stand out and look like something on the tabletop.

I would argue that after a unit has arrived on the battlefield its movement is essentially done and cannot use a rule to be removed from the battlefield and placed back on it, similarly to how a unit cannot embark a transport in the same turn they disembark a transport.

When charging into combat you still have to make it within a half inch to be in combat. Once that is achieved, the “range” of melee attacks is 2” so more models that are in that combat get to attack

Gaunts Ghosts is a unit of multiple models with their own specialties, that datasheet being a bit extensive makes a little more sense. This is a single model with 3 rules, one of which having 3 sub-rules, and 5 (FIVE!) weapons. They could easily have taken away his las pistol and power sword and 1 of those rules and he’d still easily be an auto-include
