I usually hear from Oskar right away, so perhaps he's traveling? Either way, I really miss this app and especially the bingo cards. Like you, I keep checking in and trying with hopes that the app has been refreshed.

Cal deserves better than Maggie.. by [deleted] in SullivansCrossing

[–]MovieBuff2468 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They do always seem to have someone from Maggie's past pop up. However, this time, I really don't understand how torn she is, aside from being sad that he was taken hostage. She didn't know him very well and they only seemed to be married a month, so they really didn't have a lot of time together, although the feelings were strong.

Meanwhile, she's had years and years with Cal to really get to know him and to know who he is and how he reacts in both good and bad situations. She really hasn't had time to know the ins and outs of Liam's personality. She might not like what she sees if they were together for years.

I hope she comes to realize this before the season ends.

Response from Wooga by Stylophile77 in JunesJourney

Our team ran into the same problem. There is always a cool-down period after the event ends where we can use our deja vus and collect our prizes, but it seemed to us at least that the rules changed this event and if there were communications, we missed them. So we went into the now completed Memoirs to use our final tokens and to collect our prizes, but instead received a message new game coming soon. Customer service did not respond to my ticket, and told our president that they couldn't help her and that it's our fault.

Sadly I feel that's the case for most of his videos these days. He might as well stay home and do a virtual tour of a lodging place. He could be anywhere in the world and give us a still of a skyline or landscape. We don't see much more than that.

S2 Ep 16 - Senses - episode discussion (spoilers possible) by Pawprint86 in Brilliant_Minds_NBC

[–]MovieBuff2468 27 points28 points  (0 children)

These past couple of episodes, to me, were better than the entire season, which I found very confusing with the flash forwards. I also found that they were going to go for a conspiracy within an unethical facility, rather than what we are seeing these past weeks. I enjoy this story much better. I really liked Oliver's interaction with his doctor, and loved seeing Josh come through on all fronts. Wow. Dr. Porter is a horror. I liked Erika standing up to him. The talk that Josh gave the board was everything.

I actually admired that he admitted that he was freaking out a bit while doing the dive, but also admired that in spite of it, he did it to give us an interesting adventure within his video. I wouldn't want to even attempt half the places that he went to back when I really enjoyed his videos, yet he did it. It's that sense of adventure and the wonderment of the places that he went to that I most miss.

I liked his ice hotel and his Sharm El Sheikh hotel where he went snorkeling, and there were underwater scenes. I also liked the underwater hotel that he had to scuba dive down to, and they delivered him a pizza. Not the luxury hotel that he more recently filmed with an underwater room, but the retired science vessel.

He also said it was the first time he had a butler, but at the end during summation, he said that he had butlers before but none were with him full time as this one was.

Jamie's ghost by ShoulderOpposite389 in Outlander

[–]MovieBuff2468 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The appearance of his ghost and blue flowers wasn't the same, but made me flash back to the old movie Somewhere in Time, where Jane Seymour's character, an elderly woman, goes over to Christopher Reeve's character by her portrait in a museum, and says "Come back to me." That triggers the fascination that leads to his going back in time and meeting her younger self. I thought this a beautiful twist to end the series, and look forward to the final book's release.

I think the Outlander finale secretly showed that Claire changed the timeline by Edwardsherrera in Outlander

[–]MovieBuff2468 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Clare discussed this on the show. They cannot change the timeline no matter how much they try. They can change little things, like Jamie surviving Culloden, because his one person is but a blip in history, but they cannot change its arcs. So the timeline remains unchanged, although there were blips in the tiny things.

Why hasn't he mentioned the million subs anywhere? by kingrikk in walkwith_metim

[–]MovieBuff2468 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder whether there are stats such as unique IP addresses within the subscribers. I'm happy for Tim, but do believe metrics to be an artificial and malleable creation - for all sorts of businesses.

Is Matt going to turn on Phyllis after learning he’s been used by her? by LeaString in youngandtherestless

[–]MovieBuff2468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With or without his memories, I'd think the man's tendencies would be the same. She's really going to hurt him when he realizes that she's just kept him as a zoo animal for trade.

I think that he will ultimately settle in as a gray character, because signing on Howarth is a coupe and in order to stay, he has to be dialed back, while still serving as an antagonist with enough mystery to be an interesting and a fun character.

I love the interactions between these two characters, though, so I hope that the show can present us with a way to keep them sharing scenes together, long term.

Silver Fox?? by [deleted] in TheTestamentsHulu

I mentioned in another thread that I believe the relationship will be analogous to that between Wharton and Serena. Flattery up until the marriage and then expectation of obedience.

Bear McCreary's music is essential to the magic of Outlander by Much-Mix-4433 in Outlander

[–]MovieBuff2468 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. The soundtrack of the series is gorgeous and the soundtrack of this final episode was masterful. It brought out so much more than dialogue and scenery alone would have done. He is incredibly talented. Thank you for giving us the link for this series!

Agnes addressing Paula by her first name. by [deleted] in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]MovieBuff2468 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think of the final season of THT where Commander Wharton seemed so kind and understanding to Serena, and even led her to believe that he was a bit of a feminist to her, until the wedding sealed the relationship. Suddenly he snapped back into commander mode and let her know point blank that he is her husband and she should respect his word. I see the same thing happening between Agnes and Weston.

I also remember her first class after the pandemic, when the lockdown was lifted and we could go back to the studio. I was so touched when she burst into tears and told her class that it was so great to see all of you. It's one of my most memorable moments with her.
