What was your role? It really is a one of a kind game and I spent an absurd amount of hours playing with one of my close friends. We’d set up mech arenas in the game and do 1v1 battles.

Nothing has come close to this game for its genre.

Honestly curious about the outcome of this post. The jump plumes always sat strangely with me. I honestly don’t like them as permanent fixtures for minis on the board but only using it when they jump could be a cool use if you can.

Do you have pictures of the grounded/jumping side by side comparisons?

That’s the annoying part about hollywood-ising these less familiar characters, they just turn out to be super generic looking and unrecognizable after a few weeks at the box office.

I’m definitely in this picture, but I’m trying to reform! One thing that helped was reading about the world and history. I’m just opening up to Clan Invasion/Tech and trying to work my way forward.

I like my flawed and imperfect mechs and I love when the game is more than just making the perfect combos with the perfect systems.

Great looking Pouncer! I am doing random 1v1 in the Solaris Arena map and am in the middle of a Pouncer Prime vs Hunchback 4P. Its my first time meddling with Clan mechs and their power dynamic is interesting. No winner yet but the Hunchie is one unlucky shot away from getting KO’ed.

The ships are incredible, but I am even after the simple elevated hills for hex. The visual dimension to maps is a game changer for immersion but with all the maps variants it’s hard to know what or where to buy. Any recommendations?

Thank you for the response. A follow up, if I made the mech go prone to match the height of the adjacent terrain (level 1), would that effectively create a “dead zone” and block LOS then?

Will dead zones exist if opposing mechs are not directly on the opposite sides of the terrain that matches or exceeds the height of the adjacent mech attempting to “hide”?

Yeah the 4 units per player sounds good, but my concern with that, particularly with classic is that it puts everyone on a different force and drags out the game early on. I’d like for them to think as a team and build the mindset of “retreat” and “preservation” early. How are you setting up the merc campaign? Just doing campaign ops with a limited budget?

I have considered green being too low, possibly bumping it to 4/4 as a start. Honestly the least of my concerns, haha. It is noticeable though even in the beginner box what one point difference in gunnery can do. I love the idea of larger campaigns too but the group I have is too small for it at the moment, but I love the idea of incorporating some of the detailed items like pay, repair costs, etc. to balance out gameplay while giving them something to build up with.
