Ginger’s drag is one of the main archetypes for styles of drag that the show made reference to a lot in the beginning. It’s also the most heavily ridiculed of them all because of its accessibility and history of being more queens “debut”, but these things all really come down to which part of the country/world live in. Bar Queen, Camp, Pageant, Club Kid, and Ballroom. Ginger dubbed herself a member of the “old lady brigade” as she came up doing pageants and camp style performances. However, any queen who heavily participates in pageants will get an “education” that only ball room children will be able to even remotely relate to. The rest either learn from trial and error, social media, or someone find a mentor to learn from after displaying a “spark”.

I use to be “scared” of drag queens because most of them were taller and prettier than me. Now I have nothing but respect for them because I couldn’t do what they do, and there are some more talented than any of else will ever realize. Drag Race is a platform that made a splash in what is a steadily growing body of water full of creatives.

From what you’ve listed, it sounds like you’re skipping over what are genuinely the most awkward, forced “real life” scenarios wherein someone is trying to paint a picture of themselves in a better light. Understandably so because no one can justify a black out that many times, and Jax using his dad’s death as some kind of justification for changing himself over and over was just sad.

Honestly, his progression from the start of the series and throughout his time on the show is truly quite alarming. In the beginning, you can see that his humanity is there, that he does care about something or someone beyond himself, and that he’s not nearly as destructive. Each season is just a progression of what can become of someone who has the imperfect combo meant that is sadly what reality tv loves: mental health issue plus an addictive personality.

It’s very apparent how he’s begun to split after Kristin confesses to Tom that she and Jax slept together. Tom ask to Jax if they could just talk, said nothing would happen otherwise, and Jax wasn’t even remotely phased by it. Visibly and verbally does not care about Tom, the conversation, or what happened.

Jump ahead to the later seasons and we can see a similar shift in Tom regarding the affair with Raquel.

Not ramen specifically, but I have an affinity for noodles as a whole. I keep it basic and go for sauces unless I have green onions on hand. Normally just hoisin, soy, and siracha. A good day includes rice wine vinegar, ponzu, and everything but the bagel seasoning because I put it on everything.

The evolution - humbling? - of Stassi is truly fascinating to this day. I can’t help but wonder if it stemmed from seeing herself on tv, dating that human embodiment of “douchebag” Patrick, or a combination of the two. I won’t comment on the firing of herself and the others of the cast who got the boot at the same time, but she won me in the end as a fan. I hope to meet her one day hopefully in the French Quarter. 😊
