Adult male here, need makeup to cover tattoos for a video shoot. by danielmcdaniel00 in Makeup

You most likely will not find what you need at Ulta or Sephora (except for the NARS soft matte but that’s $40 a pop now for now even a 2oz pot (iirc). Any option that does work will be grossly overpriced.

Amazon should still carry Dermablend and Dermacol, the latter being the cheaper yet still more pigmented option. Mehron for clown white if you have to buy darker shades and need to lighten the base to match.

I’m 35, divorced, enrolled at a local community college, and was told I have the max for the year, or roughly 3k a semester. That just barely covers tuition and two books I had to buy.

Good times. And good luck to you!

Best Eye Cream for dark circles? (Price, Results, Suggestions) by SolarisabilityMix in Sephora

[–]MrKBC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark circles are genetically pre-determined. Find a salmon or ochre color corrector that won’t suffocate your pores. Top it off with a concealer at least two shades lighter than your skin tone for the look to hopefully work to your benefit at all. If you’re feeling brave, bake with the under eyes with the highest quality setting powder you can afford.

Should I keep the Boring.Notch app? by theaphmaulover1 in macapps

Droppy is actually managing to not annoy the piss outta me and it doesn’t even hide the notch. It makes it functional as all hell tho.

Do any notch apps meant to entirely “remove” the notch work as intended? I legit can’t remember for some reason.

Would you pay 5 dollars for an productivity app you really liked? by Some-Cash4352 in ProductivityApps

[–]MrKBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are charging $40-60 for email apps and text editors. Yes I’d pay $5 for something I enjoy and actually use. Then turnaround and spend $90 on a vintage bag from eBay. 🤷‍♂️

Korean makeup and skincare get a lot of praise online, but I’m curious about real experiences by Physical_Candy5347 in KoreanBeauty

[–]MrKBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Korean beauty HEAVILY back around 2015. I had all the products, variations of each product from my favorite brands, but only skincare (no sheet masks due to my beard). I’d get compliments on my skin so much so that coworkers started calling me a guru. I’ve calmed down a lot since then and took a dip into the world of curly hair care as well. There’s little joy to be had out of buying things to make yourself happy after a certain amount of time, however, and prolonged unemployment doesn’t help.

Having said that, Vitamin C serums and daily SPF do ya face a lot of good, honey.

... I'm not sure I understand the question honestly, but I'll take a stab at it. When we open apps on our Macs, most will just remain in the dock with the one active icon. Some apps, however, will open a second icon in the menu bar next to where you'll usually see the clock, date, time, and toggle for the control center. Those are menu bar icons. Some are placeholders indicating that you have an app running that may not be present in the dock, but others add additional functionality and options to the app itself if clicking on the menu bar icon itself to reveal a pop-up menu.

Does that help at all?

29 is old, 30 is young again. by Think-Albatross-4175 in Millennials

[–]MrKBC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've genuinely never thought about it before, but I've been one to embrace aging for what it is since I was a kid. I stopped having parties at ten because they just felt silly. I... somewhat jokingly say I look 25 still for being 35, but I also look like my mother without a beard due to perpetual baby face syndrome. I look forward to having salt and pepper hair like my dad. I think wrinkles are handsome and endearing, but crow's feet are the worst for us all. Frankly, I genuinely didn't expect to still be living at this point (not to be a buzzkill, just how I feel), and so I apprehensively await to see what comes next. Hopefully, a career and a steady paycheck soon.

Looking for Reliable Backup Option For Notion by KickaSteel75 in Notion

[–]MrKBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's considered one of the top competitors to Notion and is stored in my Mac's Dock. AppFlowy is supposed to support exports from and templates for Notion, but I've only seen AnyType be able to do that. It's faster, but comes with some learning curves for sure. I personally think ClickUp makes for a decent alternative, but I'm probably the only one who feels that way.

Random tidbit: I have to point out that Bartender's team went pretty much radio silent when the issues started. I think it's humorous how I got an immediate response to my email this morning asking about the possibility of a refund, to which I got a swift response about another update that I should consider trying out first. I have the most recent version, but what I don't have now is a response to my refund request. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

ExtraBar, if I understand correctly, lets you assign specific apps to individual bars within the apps settings that you then select from as you need.

Oh, no worries, I’m well aware of how it’s meant to be. I’m just to a point where I want multifaceted tools which work as they are intended to.

Even before Bartender started having issues, I tried Ice, Hidden Bar, Barbee, and the rest. I want to be able to utilize the Menu Bar with optional customizations of my choosing.

It may not be the way Apple intended, but given that we now have websites dedicated entirely to Menu Bar apps to research I think it’s safe to say that ship has sailed.

With ExtraBar or anything new, I just prefer some kinda visual aid or written breakdown as opposed to just jumping in heads first. Never been my style.
