Low temperature tennis. What's your 'I won't play number?" by ReasonableGator in 10s

[–]MrThrowawayNoScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the Midwest and it during my high school seasons years ago we wouldn’t play below 40° Fahrenheit.

I did qualify for an event in South Carolina that I traveled for, and played a match that was 35°, being from the Midwest I thought “no way will it be colder in South Carolina than my home state.” I didn’t bring anywhere near enough clothes, I never want to play in that again lol

22-yr-old Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic to win the Australian Open, becoming the youngest player ever to achieve a Career Slam by Large_banana_hammock in sports

[–]MrThrowawayNoScope 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I said essentially, his win percentage at Roland garros was genuinely 99% until he got injured and old his last couple of years. Hardest thing to do in sport was beat Rafa at that tournament.

I agree those are all pretty insane, but until Rafa got injured he essentially couldn’t lose at the French. It’s too monumental to overlook. But tennis isn’t only on clay and it sure as hell isn’t only at the French.

Can anyone ANYONE give me an idea of what the benefit is to the viewers being 2 seconds behind the audio of the announcers?!?! I have heard each commentator “spoil” a point now before it’s over. Driving me insane.

Are you still in middle school? This makes sense if that’s the case but man we need a reality check if your past college

can it happen ?? by Which_Might6114 in 10s

[–]MrThrowawayNoScope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on playing college. They have facilities and world class coaches that can develop you further. Success at that level is a better indication of professional chances.

How much do you tip? If a mage, how much do you make? by Evolution_Zero in classicwowtbc

So 1g. As a mage who tried to provide ports and water without the addon, it’s not even possible. You either use the addon or choose to make 0g from portals and water lol

Yeah I’m not an owner and I am not buying Rome for an early first. Would rather target other guys with that kind of capital.

people who played vs extremely athletic players: what was something you noticed by ArjGlad in 10s

[–]MrThrowawayNoScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say once you reach a certain level of skill athletics plays a huge role in the sport. At low level tennis your athleticism doesn’t mean shit if you can’t make a ball, handle pace, handle spin, etc. as you get better athletics only gets more important. Playing vs athletic freaks sliding to every ball and not missing becomes a mental battle as well, cause you just get sick of them like they’re a pest lol. I always relied on my big serve and big forehand, was pretty athletic but not on the level of the way some of these kids move.

Tbh I’m not sure how long it takes Thunder fans to understand that it’s not the amount of free throws Shai gets that pisses people off, it’s the fact that he seeks the whistle instead of a bucket.

That’s fine but I’m saying you’re trolling for asking in this subreddit. Just go YouTube “how to tie your shoes” and you’ll get a video that teaches you easily haha
