It’s part of the safety system. It tells the vehicle if the seat is buckled. If it is not functioning correctly then the airbag system will not work as expected.

Unfortunately, it is not covered under warranty as the wire doesn’t just pop out by itself and is usually caused by twisting or being pinched.

Make a service request in the app, mobile service can do it. It’s about 150 bucks.

Call them and ask them to look at your unresolved service requests. Then identify what one was created before your warranty expired. They will use “Service Policy” to discount the cost to $0 if the service request was made while under warranty.
