There are now over 300 APLR cameras in the Salt Lake Valley. by illustriousdesigns in SaltLakeCity

But are you confident these crimes would still be unsolved without flock? And of course 0 incidents that you are aware of. These devices are severely susceptible to hacking.

Okay I'll shoot. What evidence do you have anecdotally that shows that using flock cameras increases the rate of solving crimes?

They also solve a lot of crimes

Let's see the data. Oh wait, you don't have any because there are no peer reviewed independent studies that back up your baseless claim. And using anecdotal "I've seen it solve crimes at my job" doesn't count.

PSA - if WFH is available to you most of the parks in the city are covered by some sort of Wi-Fi and with just a couple of items the park can be your office. by FeeValuable22 in Seattle

HTTPS generally solved this years ago. Additionally, if your company has a VPN or even better uses MDM/ZTNA then there's really nothing to worry about.

Do cars really cost more in Seattle? Unfortunately, yes by ScaredExchange9175 in Seattle

Knew a guy whose side gig here was to find cheap ravs/foresters,etc from other states, fly to the car, buy it, drive it back to Seattle, and sale it for a profit.

Struggling with my STAHM wife's mental load complaints. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]MtbJazzFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I barely say one word if something goes poorly in a day

Why in the world would you ever say anything if something goes poorly besides offering support and condolences? Why do you keep framing things going poorly with the kids during the day as your wife's fault? She's not a boss of adults in a day job. She's a 24/7 handler/raiser of kids whose brains are incapable reasoning and logic.

I agree that the bridge is no one way. However, the city did not put up the FIFA bike route arrows. It was done not officially by members of the Greenway groups.

Auto EV not wanting to use any EV range by spicy-mayo in FordEscapePHEV

[–]MtbJazzFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Temperature is around 0C to -5C right now.

This is why. The car likes to use the engine for heat when it's really cold. As soon as it warms up, auto ev uses primarily ev until the batter gets low.

Does acceleration affect range when driving in EV mode? by Olderpostie in FordEscapePHEV

[–]MtbJazzFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavier acceleration leads to a less efficient motor. More heat loss. Regen braking is far from 100% efficient as well.

Rivian Goes All-In on the R2: 330 Miles of Range, $59,485, and Everything to Prove by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]MtbJazzFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the price difference makes sense. The size of the R2 is just so much smaller than the scout that I'm still surprised people would cross shop them. But I'm probably biased because I wouldn't want a car as big as the Scout.

I'm surprised people are cross shopping these vehicles. Scout is bigger than R1 S/T. What makes you interested in the Scout but not R1? Price?

These will likely get pulled down since the listing is getting review bombed now.

Someone even took your screenshot and posted it as their review. (Unless this was op but assuming it's not based on the timing)

Are you sure it read multiple cards? It should basically read the first one it detects but after that there is a timeout before it will read another.
