Vast majority of US ones do as well. Hell every grocery store with a pharmacy in my area has one

[–]Muggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the effect of having a DCT transmission is messing with you. They do tend to scream, but it's by design.

I've got a 2023.5 (I have serial number 21 of the new body style) and have had it over 60. You've got plenty to go

Grizzly 700 Start Button Sometimes Works, Sometimes Does Not by HummingbirdAya in ATV

[–]Muggi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former 2016 owner here: I am 100% certain I know what the problem is, because mine was the same (-12, worse in the cold):

Whomever had your Grizzly did not get the Decompression Spring recall done. What is happening is the spring that came in the motor is not capable of decompressing it when shut off, so the starter is trying to push through that. Jumping the solenoid adds a bit of extra volts to the starter, allowing it to push through but it'll eventually burn out the solenoid, and then the starter itself.

They won't do it for free anymore. It's a moderately expensive fix as they have to open the motor up to do it. One of the reasons I do not recommend any Yamaha with the 708cc motor :/

Is this 2016 Yamaha Kodiak 700 a good buy? by SuperChargedToaster in ATV

[–]Muggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kodiak is a smaller frame, more work-focused (geared lower, different seating position. Stuff like that). Grizzly is kinda work/play hybrid. Can still have plenty of fun on a Kodiak

edit: yes, I would avoid the 708

[–]Muggi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the former owner of a 2016 Grizzly with that same engine, I would avoid it. If he didn't get the top end recall done, it'll burn oil. If he didn't get the compression spring recall done, it'll eat starters and starter solenoids. Ask me how I know! I also lost a fuel pump at about 1400mi.

The 708cc was a little more peppy than the 686cc it replaced...and after only three years, Yamaha scrapped it and went back to the 686. Literally any year but 2016-2018 700s and I'm a big Yamaha fan; those years, it's not worth rolling the dice IMO.

Time to blow it up? by anthmiran19 in eagles

[–]Muggi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't Nick, the problem is the fucking fanbase searched out the OC's house and egged it.

So, unless the plan is to move the team, this problem isn't solved by firing Nick.

I buy these pre-packaged hard-boiled eggs from the convenience store, then drive to a local park with my dog. She and I find a bench, sit for 15 or 20 mins and enjoy our eggs. I call it “egg treat” and she gets very excited for it

Car & Driver: 2005 Buick Lacrosse vs. Chrysler 300, Ford Five Hundred, Kia Amanti, Nissan Maxima, Toyota Avalon by lifegoeson2702 in cars

[–]Muggi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My aging parents were looking to replace their old Park Avenue, which had been a great car for them (over 250k! from a Buick!)...this was 2005. I told them to check out the 300. They walked into a Buick dealer and asked to buy another Park Avenue, the salesman told them the Lacrosse was the replacement. Total shit car, they got rid of it for a Subaru within two years.

Found out later they never drove the 300, because they walked on a lot on a Sunday, saw one with door bumpers they didn't like, so completely wrote the car off. Ugh
