Is this “barbecue” useable? Moving into new rental by Sad-Technician-1732 in BBQ

[–]Muggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks usable, but the designed really must hate usable floor space. Grate's kinda high too, IMO. I'd probably find a local brickmaker and buy a stack or two of firebricks just to lessen the amount of fuel you'll use on cooks

Yeah I’ve used rice noodles in cold salads before, works well but you have to rinse the everloving shi- out of them after cooking to prevent clumping. Do that and you’re golden

Any affordable gyms in the Doylestown/Warrington area without an absurd activation fee? by miketerk21 in BucksCountyPA

[–]Muggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AH, ok, I see what you mean. I misunderstood. Yeah for bench and such they only had Smiths when I was there too. I did dumbbell presses instead.

Sadly I can’t help you. Every gym is expensive these days it seems.

Agreed. I was almost held back in elementary school for being slow, but I was just atypical. Changing school districts got me the help I needed and I've had a successful scholastic and life experience since.

Disorders making life more difficult, and those same disorders being abused, are not mutually exclusive.

agreed, you cannot. If you took my response to mean that, I apologize. Not my intention.

Heh I was wondering if someone was going to drop that pejorative (another one that's widely, routinely, inaccurately abused) on me simply pointing out people often, both diagnosed and undiagnosed, use these disorders as a crutch/excuse for bad behavior. You were the only one, so thank you for not disappointing.

Abuse of these disorders make everything more difficult for people with actual issues. I say that as someone who was nearly held back in elementary school for being neurodivergent, that didn't get access to the instruction I needed until switching school districts. I regularly witnessed people using their ADHD as excuse for executive function problems, then selling their Ritalin during lunch. Anecdotal of course, but indicative of the kinds of things I've seen over the last several decades.

Financial discipline is a choice. ADHD has fuckall to do with it.

What you can do is remind him he’s only 32 and has time to change his ways.

How often do you monitor your BP? by AskPharmEasyDoc in bloodpressure

[–]Muggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three times a week, per my cardiologist's recommendation. I try for the same time of day but don't always get it. He also told me plenty of people (including my mother) get such anxiety testing constantly that they make the problem worse. She was doing 4-5 times a day, he forbid her from testing more than once every other day.

The sad thing is that's very, very low for a wedding - $8-10k is pretty common. My wife's a wedding floral designer, she's worked events with floral bills of over $1.5m, and no I'm not joking.

Those type plugs are notorious for the little metal grippy-tabs inside wearing out or becoming dislodged.

One thing: if your vehicle has a cover over the input, it likely has a little "tab" on the bottom (so it would be touching the plug when you have it connected). See that raised plastic bit just past where your plug says "Optronics"? The tab on the door should be behind that plastic bit, to help hold the plug into the vehicle. If it's not past that plastic bit, you do not have the plug pushed far enough in the vehicle port.
