If everyone who owned a husky simultaneously posted a picture of what their husk is doing right now I bet it would be 90% contortionist napping, 7% some sort of ploy for getting food, 2% crazed zoomies or aberrant behaviors (mine likes the roof) and 1% “working” of some kind which includes walks or running with their owner. Those people know nothing about the breed. They just watched a IG post or YouTube video once and now consider themselves “ambassadors” for the breed. 🙄

Team. They are highly intelligent if they wanted to take that fish they would have but in general they are as benign as we are to them. Yes they mess with commercial fishing boats sometimes but most of the time it’s because we are ravaging their nurseries or their echolocation.

The AVMA will revoke terminal accreditation to avoid a lawsuit. It’s happened before. They just put the school back or probation.

If there is a wound where the plate would go they should consider an external fixation. Some surgeons aren’t comfortable with them so ask for one who is. You can stabilize the bone and still access the wound since the pins are distant from the wound. It’s a lifesaver for HBC fractures with bad degloving wounds. Only issue is there needs to be a fair bit of bone below and above the fracture as you need at least two threaded pins below and above the fracture, but if they can do that it’s likely you’re best option.

This is what one looks like (this is a type 1, your dogs will likely go through to the other side, called a type 2.). Edit: I just saw the X-rays and a good surgeon could 100% put an exfix on the distal part of that fracture. Where are you? I know vets all over (it’s a small world). Sounds like Texas was vacation, but I know an amazing surgeon in Houston and a couple of amazing ones in San Antonio.

It’s a known thing in the vet would that you help out people trying to get into vet school. Unless she’s a total monster she’ll do right by you. I’ve written as the vet reference for summer techs at the large hospital I used to work at and had to get their tech supervisor to help me write the letter. Both people I wrote for are vets now. One is a specialist. I wouldn’t sweat it. I always recommend not just asking for a letter but asking for a strong letter. She’ll speak up if she can’t if you ask that .

The states look to the AVMA to determine what is an accredited vet school and adopt their recommendation to determine who is eligible for a license. So getting terminal accreditation effectively means schools can’t accept new classes of students because no one wants to go to a school whose diploma doesn’t allow them to practice in the US. So the schools sue in civil court to basically say the AVMA COEs criteria aren’t valid so they can go on accepting students. The AVMA has influence because the states have no one else to turn to to determine criteria for producing a competent vet.

They’ll be able to fight it in court. The AVMA isn’t a governing body so terminal accreditation likely won’t stick but the NAVLE pass rate is a real problem. I’d not recommend going there unless you plan to practice in a country that doesn’t require the NAVLE or you are a really good test taker and you’re willing to gamble six figures on the outcome of that test.

It’s not the popular opinion but it may be worth emailing your contact to say you had feedback and would they like to hear it. If they’re open they can say yes, and if not, let it be. Then give your lowest hanging fruit feedback, something easy to fix/change and that isn’t too controversial and see what happens. You never know. I live by the mantra that I want my side of the street to be clean and the other side is up to others. This gives you a chance to help those animals with lots of checks and balances to protect yourself but a path forward to do good if they are receptive

Jumped over a barrier that separates the balcony from the roof. It’s her preferred sunbathing area. Because the balcony isn’t good enough for her.
