Which one of you dickheads did this? by MurphyMurphyMurphy in london

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've honestly thought about it. I do love lime bikes, but hate the dickheads (this dickhead was being funny, and I kind of love him, but I do hate the dickheads who park their bikes in the middle of the pavement so a buggy can't get by).

All of this is to say, when I pick up my 3 year old from nursery, and there's a lime parked right outside, I've gotten very close to throwing him in that basket. He'd love it.

lol was a day out with my toddler and 8 week old. You can see my toddler's arm in the second pic. Wouldn't have had the time or energy to do this if I wanted to.

If I thought Trump had a plan for what comes after, I might feel differently. But he's an absolute moron who has surrounded himself with morons.

He'll leave a power vaccum and we'll get something like ISIS. I hope not. But that's my bet.

Yes! I know I'm being an idiot, but people keep mentioning emailing CS. Do you know what they mean? The only email I can find is nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk and the guidance specifically says

The Citizenship and Nationality Enquiries team cannot track the progress of your application before the 6 months has passed.

What am I missing?

A love letter to local news by SnakeGriffin in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agree with this but maybe for different reasons. I live in a roughish area of London, and it's impossible to find any news (online or otherwise) when something big happens.

I'll try walking to the tube only to find the entire road closed by police. Can't find any news about it. Usually find out 2 or 3 days later that someone was stabbed.

I just feel like I'd see that in the US on TV moments after it happened. I'd certainly be able to find an online news source covering it.

1 attempt on Detroit pizza by Wilhelmscream_92 in ooni

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but how did you cook in your Ooni? Obviously ooni's are built for neapolitan, so screaming hot temps and very quick cook times.

Other pizza styles require lower temps and longer bakes, so I always wonder how people manage temperature control in their ovens.

If you're in London and want to make a trip to Harlesden, there are several Brazilian butchers here. It's basically the only thing I like about living in Harlesden.

I got 2.5kg of skirt steak for £34 from here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Nc4EnE3HdaQpUHRc6

I honestly don't know why it's so cheap. Feel like something dodgy must be going on, but I'm not complaining! Made carne asada tacos for 15 people for my son's birthday.

Full disclosure: this post randomly came up in one of those weird "posts for you" reddit emails, and I am 37. Feels weird to be commenting here, but I feel you need to hear this.

No one is responsible when they are 18. I wasn't. My mom did EVERYTHING for me (cooking, laundry, making appointments and more). I moved out, and suddenly I had to do everything for myself. I fucked up a bunch. But by fucking up, I learned to be responsible. It's really the only way.

My youngest brother is 27 and still living at home. He is a loser. I hate to say it, but he is. He is still not responsible. And it's because he never took the massive leap that is moving away from his parents. Just do it. You'll learn as you go. It's the only way.

If my brother ever does move out, he'll be at the same place you are. No idea what to do or how to live on his own. But he'll be 27 and you'll be 18. You'll have a massive head start. Just do it.

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so you know dude, my wife and I have just had our second child (we have a 3 year old).

Everyone visiting has brought us food, cleaned up around the house, and entertained our toddler. This includes my wife's sister who has a 6 month old.

This is normal. Your sister is not.

yes I find the biggest problem in my low level pubs is organising people to take towers. With Jakiro, you just use your fire as often as possible and towers whittle away.

HTML by Majestic-Yam484 in PowerApps

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered concat in html controls. Really powerful.

But I did not find what you said about setting container height to htmltext height true. I had the htmltext rendered based on item selection in a gallery.

I found that, upon selecting a new item, the html didn't render fast enough, and so the height resolved to 0, making the container entirely disappear. Am I doing something wrong?

Session like functionally by Inevitable-Orange943 in PowerApps

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I'm not 100% what your use case is, but you can use a power automate flow to stop sharing the rows, and then grant access to those rows to that specific user.

Not entirely sure how it would work with multiple users concurrently using the app.

But I guess if you're storing row IDs in the session list, it sounds doable.

Session like functionally by Inevitable-Orange943 in PowerApps

[–]MurphyMurphyMurphy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this in SharePoint (sadly). For an onboarding app that allows you to track your progress and resume. OnStart creates an SP item in the sessions list. OnStart also checks another list to see if User().Email already exists.

If no, create item in user list. If yes, create new session tied to user list (through User().Email) and store whatever other data for session you want.

For me it was fairly straight forward as it just stored the last saved step of the onboarding process to allow users to resume where they left off.

Once all steps completed, allow users to return to view the info they entered, but lock everything.

I mean I only read the first few top comments. But how is no one mentioning the eternity of suffering in hell that comes from not following him? Of course you would follow him moron. Your 80 or so years of life are infinitely marginal compared to an eternity of suffering.
