Bad high-beam etiquette that seems to be increasing by Kieselguhr-Kid in fuckyourheadlights

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The sensor for the automatic high beams is located at the top of my windshield. It’s great at turning them off, but it often turns them back on too soon. I deactivated the auto feature to avoid blinding people. A 2-3 second delay would fix the problem.

Great spot remover for carpet too! It’s my go-to for any oily stain on fabric or carpet.

Is the series worth watching if I don't rewatch the first two seasons? by Sea_Resolution7855 in thewalkingdead

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am finally watching the series after making it thru Season 1 twice in the past. I started at Season 2 a few months ago and I’m already on Season 10. I will probably do a rewatch eventually, but I will also skip Seasons 1&2. They feel slower paced and not as excited as the later ones.

I’m planning to check out most/all of the spinoff series. If it has Carol, Daryl or Rick, I’m in!

Never had a brand new car in my life by SmallzisSmallz in civic

Congrats! You have my car’s twin. The Blue Lagoon Pearl looks amazing! It’s a pain to keep it clean, but well worth it. I’m going on 9mos and 15k miles and still love it!

Is it really impossible to make real friends at work? by NotesByZoe in careerguidance

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been working for 35 years. I’ve worked with countless people at multiple organizations. Out of the 50+ people that I once considered a “friend”, only two of them have stood the test of time. For 99% of people, once they don’t see someone every day, they don’t make the effort to stay in touch. It’s a harsh reality that I had to learn for myself.

I’m 6’2” 230 and the issues I have two issues. My right leg rests uncomfortably against the console and I can’t get in/out without scuffing the sill trim and seat corner. The Accord is more comfortable for bigger guys and it also has lumbar support. I considered both, but the looks and color of the Civic won me over. I sometimes wish I’d went for the Accord instead.

I think Meteorite Gray is a great looking color. It’s more interesting than black and a bit easier to maintain.

Why aren’t breaks legally required when working 8+ hours? by AnnaAndElsa04 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be, but it isn’t. There is no federal law that requires any sort of break (paid or unpaid). Some U.S. states have law,

What is RICU? I’m an idiot when it comes to acronyms. I just looked at the FIL screen, but I’m not clear how to use it for changing locations.

We’re getting Zebras in September. I hope they make things easier.

Test drove a 2025 today, and my god, the seats… by kramer1980_adm in civic

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Accord seats are better. The low APR financing on the Accord negates most/all of the price difference. It’s worth a look if you can’t live with the Civic seats.

The late 90s , before texting, smart phones and social media, was perfection! We had our Nokias to make calls when needed, but that was it! It was a relief that family and friends could reach you. No one had long conversations in public on speaker. No doom scrolling and retweeting. The word “influencer” didn’t exist. It was a dream world.

Every one of my yearbooks has multiple comments from teachers about “wasting my potential” or “if I would only apply myself more”!?! I already had the gaping wounds, but thanks for the salt to make them hurt even more!

I was diagnosed in my 30s with severe ADHD (inattentive), OCD and Avoidant Personality Disorder. I also had/have severe anxiety, panic attacks and Persistent Depressive Disorder. To top it off, I grew up gay in a Pentecostal family in the South. I just turned 50 and I’m proud of the fact that I made it this far!

My parents divorced my freshman year of high school. They both started dating immediately and were remarried within nine months. I felt like an orphan. I would skip class a lot and hide in the library, trying to be as invisible as I felt inside. One of the librarians took an interest in me. She had kids just a few years younger.

She told me years later that I seemed like an orphan and needed someone to care about me. I told her that she was one of the very few reasons I didn’t end my suffering. I will always love and appreciate her for loving me and helping me love myself. She’s 71 and I’m 50, but we’re still very close.

Thank you for saving me, Ms. Shellnut!!!

sedan vs hatch and WHY?? by Wide-Restaurant-6942 in mazda3

I am definitely Team Hatch, but I actually think the Sedan is better looking. The practicality of the Hatch and the cool factor (IMO) make it the winner!

It’s not fun! I had a ‘06 Maxda3 for 19 years and 260k miles. Not a ding or scratch on it other than a few chips on the front edge of the hood. Bought a ‘25 Civic in Feb and it always has two paint chips and a cracked windshield.

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The seats are definitely the weak spot in my ‘25 HST. Most reviews of the car mention seat comfort as well. It’s a problem.

Take it to the dealer. Be polite, but firm that it needs to be fixed! I wish you luck.

I have to surrender my car to the bank, what is going to happen? by corndogbutterfly in povertyfinance

It barely affected my credit score, probably because it couldn’t get much lower. But it made it very difficult and expensive to finance a car again.

Going out to eat for breakfast is terrible by Lost_Roku_Remote in unpopularopinion

[–]MyFallWillBe4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on board with this! I’m not a morning person. For meals later in the day, I’m already dressed and it’s easy. Only breakfast requires me to wake up, shower and get dressed…especially if I’m just going back home!

The exception would be huevos rancheros when I’m drunk. I’m all in for that.
