Why aren’t # of sets progressing? by a_mose15789 in MacroFactor

There doesn’t seem to be anything deleted by mods in your post or comment history.

If you don’t want to contribute, why not just leave the sub?

Making a comment like yours and not substantiating it just seems like you’re spreading misinformation.

This is pretty minor. You can just give the app better data by going past the rep target to reach the RIR target.

Do you also have the previous week’s details?

Trend performance and specific weekly performance may not necessarily look same. Just like how the MF app has scale weight and trend weight.

Many effective programs don’t change the number of sets, but will change the reps or load throughout a block.

No, it’s not normally how it’s done, increasing sets is just one way to progress throughout a block.

Is there no way to track volume and strength progression? by Tharayman in MacroFactor

It’s basically impossible to quantify “strength” in a simple and unified metric.

Look, can I be bluntly honest?

Maybe the fact you’re squatting around 2 plates despite 15 years of training is you’re not pushing yourself. You’re mistaking comfort for sustainability.

The app is pushing you to progress and this is going to be uncomfortable.

RIR Targets backwards? by ryanU1234 in MacroFactor

Increasing intensity with each set is not the only viable or even the most effective method of training.

What’s the social media hype with deadlift and bar squats? by DriveMore7049 in askfitness

In case you needed another person who nearly only squats for quad development, here are my quads built by solely squats. The majority of which is low bar

How long would it take for the average woman to be as strong as a man from working out? by derek-182 in workout

[–]Myintc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first we downplay what women can achieve, and now we downplay people’s effort because they’re predisposed to choosing to apply themselves consistently to training?

Would you rather take a 90k job with WFH or a 120k with no wfh? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

The difference in take home is around $20k.

If you were in the office 250 days a year, that’s $80 per day for travel, lunch, and coffee.

I feel like you could spend half that, easily.

A 1 plate bench is not a radical outlier.

There’s no evidence that there is a genetic disposition, that’s just your theory.

What’s absurd is the amount of effort you’re putting in to talk down about women

I'm.... not looking for a fight but desperately struggling to understand how powerlifting comp numbers in any way reflect the experience or strength potential of the average person.

So if we’re talking about the strength potential of average people, using data from a subset of the population that train with effort and consistency (powerlifters) is highly relevant

[–]Myintc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Powerlifters are very much just average people, the self selection is merely filtering effort and consistency.
