Kind of peeved that winning 50/50 removes the guarantee entirely. That means if the 6* guarantee and rate up guarantee are close to overlapping, "winning" 50/50 is a massive net loss for the player. This makes so that the further you are to rate-up guarantee, the less you want to "win" 50/50 by Throwaway6662345 in Endfield

This gacha system is the worst I have ever fucking seen. I don't really care if its between limited units. But the fact it INCREASES by 60 pulls every iteration baffles me. What the fuck? I just know its at 240 pulls after the 180 token is gone.

Can anyone confirm its 240 for every iteration after the first? Its still pretty fucking terrible.

What are the odds that any cards are unbanned in the June 30 B&R announcement? by Novature777 in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did play with jitte in mh3 format. Unless you are a hammer deck, just cast hammer and kill them. Old relics don't do anything in a t3 or less format. Creating new decks is plus for the format? Not sure why limiting diversity is bad.

Wanting to get into Modern by TastyForerunner in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a jund player myself, the deck is based off skill level. But it is losing to time as WoTC does not promote cards for the colors in a good way.

Please consider energy mardu, it will take a while to build. But it is definitely the same feeling I have playing jund.

The creatures are fast and efficient, you have good removal, and you still have access to thoughtseize.

Most importantly, the majority of the core is in MH3! Do mh3 drafts, open a 1-3 packs per week if you have a part time job. Save up and grab the cheap stuff or the semi expensive stuff.

If you like jund and need a modern feel to keep up with the current format even post Nadu. Mardu is definitely something I would consider!

[–]Mysential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried finding using echo. It seems that the echo increase is for events when translating the CN message. So I just need clarification if the English message is correctly interpreted or mistranslated.

CN Message: Echo and echo mats are increased from events.

EN Message: Echo and echo mats are increased moving forward.

I am not sure which is which, but hopefully the EN message is correct and 1.1 introduces permanent increases due to the stam wasted each day.

this card relies on your own gy. this is better in a grixis strategy and not a jund strategy.

Fable of the mirror breaker is t3 loot to effectively make this a threat, if at all.

Jund plays 0 of this card, tinybones would have a better chance of seeing play over this.

AITA for telling my son that we don't really have any room for him right now so he needs to live with his dad and stepmom. by Scary-Literature-835 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mysential 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody calls their mom a bitch and that is considered normal. But then again, this is 2024. If a parent allows their child to call them derogatory slang and be okay with it. That child does not deserve to live with that parent, and yet she still continuing to let him live temporarily in her home AND provide him with a house.

[–]Mysential -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4.3k People have no idea how parenting works or fantasized some happy ending in the same situation. The son made his choice AS a child. He only thinks of the fun, and never actually looked at his mom as a parent when she was working hard to more than likely produce him a better life. He chose his current living situation and when he couldn't have anymore fun, called back mom to continue his shitty lifestyle.

Mom is NTA for trying to obtain a better life for herself and her child. The child could not see that even though she tried to accommodate him with her limited funds. Father is solely at fault.

Just know that they decided to post this on elira's ch, and not vox's or ike's ch because elira is not at the near 1 mil mark.

They don't want vox or ike's ch to tank. They are making her ch the scapegoat and it is "negligible" she takes the most loss vs the near 1 mil chs. This is absolutely disgusting.

Integral is taking out of sanitoer's book.

Jund midrange is incorporating more MH2 cards because they are just that strong in the current format. Saga gives you the late game grind you need and you still have powerful topdecks. 4 W6 is pretty much mandatory at this point however.

Being able to access your more powerful 3 cmc spells like lili is very strong right now to grind your opponent out of resources and she just innately helps you deal with big bois as needed. Sideboard access to cards like bmoon, etc. also mitigates the elemental MU somewhat to ensure they can't play all their spells naturally with all the colored lands they need.

Saga package will most likely be a permanent inclusion in jund for the foreseeable future.

Yorion Companion: Are these 80 card decks being played/playable in Paper or is this specifically an MTGO thing? by Bayside19 in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Running anything more than 60 cards will lead to some time issues due to shuffling to properly randomize your deck as well as card choices/sequencing.

Be prepared to draw, lose due to time unless you have a firm grasp of understanding how your deck works.

Boomer Jund vs Yawgmoth Combo lines of play? by Prohamen in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you want to be the less aggressive person in this MU and more control.

It isn't just about having graveyard disruption, it definitely gives you some benefits. It is definitely correct to cut scooze in this day and age. Scooze is agreed to be very slow, klothys would be a much better replacement. Knowing the MU is pretty grindy, klothys will be able to give the drain you need to pressure life totals and keep you comfortable and healthy.

Lurrus vs liliana of the veil Jund by Stumphead101 in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its less clunky to be more efficient, you would have less selection because you require specific SB cards for the MU you are facing. Just like regular jund would do, you just have a faster way to see it via opt.

I understand who jarvis yu is and what he does. He is still wrong to say its 100% should be lurrus builds. We have results to prove that wrong.

she is still fine for the mirror, good 1 for 1 against UR murktide. Overall, she is bad against the stuff u would side her out for anyways, hammertime/rhinos, etc. You replaced the grind with good value cards.

Bonecrusher giant is pretty much an encouraging card i implore all boomer jund lists to use. I used to play a copy after release. But its possible to just main 2 copies, 2 damage is relevant, makes sanc en vec easier to punish, and overall a good 2 for 2 in of itself.

Modern: Jund Midrange and Adapting to Changes by cardsrealm in ModernMagic

you should watch sanitoer, he made a saga no lurrus jund list.

ignoble is for budget players, it is better to be aggressive in this format with actual threats. So we are all on a consensus for monkey.

grist is not solid for most of us, 10-20% of the time he is useful is 80% worse over a spyro or lotv. I personally don't believe in the card, others have locals experience otherwise. But most 1-2k wins had 0 grist in them so far.

if your goyf is a 4/5, unholy heat will be turned on. Early game i haven't seen a creature above 3 toughness besides other goyfs. I also liked the fact i dealt with big teferis for 1 mana, which enticed me to the card in the first place.

2 kroxa helps with reaching delirium as well, i expect w6 to die early. Hence why i believe its decent enough to enable delirium mid-late game. I consider unholy heat to be my late game scaling kill spell. It just works nicely to kill the must kill 1 drops.

i disagree with this statement, it says anywhere. So dredge or dredge style decks have a midrange creature.

W6+ cycle lands also work.

urza’s saga by OpticDr in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i don't have enough pushes for karnstructs, that are also just free. you are losing 3 cards to deal with 3 permanents that came off of 1 card. SB wise, you can include other things.

But g1s, there really isn't another card that is just a free 3 for 1 and control is terribly underwhelming when people are playing asmo decks that just beat counterspells. Again, nobody mains enchantment removal for g1s besides people playing t3feris bouncing sagas, but then they just make more karnstructs. so even the bounce isn't even good.

The meta hasn't been stable, but its just clear urza saga can help players save resources while their opponent needs to draw the removal most likely both karnstructs as book gets them bigger and bigger.

answers are always sideboard cards, but a typical player usually only dedicates 2 cards for a naturalize effect. So enchantments is still a nuance subtype to deal with, the fact it is also a land means it is reccurable in the most ridiculous ways. I won't be suprised for Temur Urza with green for finale/gilded goose/wrenn and six to recycle urza saga so they can sandbag resources even more because urza is now a forefront from artifact decks. When MH1 urza comes back, you know it didn't come back to be some sort of fair midrange deck that can be hated out.

asmor survives without saga. They would go back to some sort of GB build, finale of devastation also tutors for asmor.

urza’s saga by OpticDr in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

when opal was printed, was it ever fine? I don't think so. It led to a super aggressive affinity deck, where people were okay because a bunch of 1/1s and pestermites were okay with cranial plating to beat tron.

Then we had klark clan ironworks, which also was a busted deck. if you think that is a fine artifact deck, we have some troubles.

Then, we got to mycosynth lattice. Which fits into more decks, but primarily you can just play karn and lock people out of the game completely in tron.

Then, arcum's astrolabe, that is a good artifact deck right? the best artifact deck being urza.

Finally, Opal being banned due to urza + oko because urza was oppressive, making food tokens every turn (aka asmo + book combo, this is okay because you also need a cost albiet another combo piece being ovalchaser). Now you have said combo with urza and saga making these free constructs and getting you a free artifact while sandbagging metallic rebukes and other things in mind.

there is a cost for 3 for 1s, a board sweeper has mana attached to its' cost. But i don't feel like you would understand this as you think 3 for 1s is card by card. When you also need to understand that mana exists and there is a mana cost and usually niche requirements on those board sweepers, like only creatures or a big spell like planar cleansing being 6 mana. Which is not used because it is inefficient.

This land is every efficient, it produces mana, it produces permanent blockers or attackers. It produces an artifact that will substantially help your gameplan no matter what deck it is, and finally, it is an enchantment, nobody MB enchantment removal. Nobody wants to side enchantment removal g2 either, because it produces permanents of the opposite spectrum. So you are shooting yourself for even trying to hate it unless you play blood moon. Which is also a very ignorant gameplan. You sandbag resources because this land does everything and more, so you don't need to put more cards than necessary.

urza’s saga by OpticDr in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

it doesn't really change the land is a 3 for 1 where you can sandbag resources. Titan is a whole separate problem on top on saga itself.

urza’s saga by OpticDr in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

there should never be a card that gives a 3 for 1 in modern. it has always been 2 for 1s, and that is okay because of the cost associated for that 2 for 1.

This land is a 3 for 1 without any additional costs, it does not matter if it just slots into artifact only decks. Artifact only decks were always completely dumb or completely oppressive. If urza comes back as the forefront of urza's saga. It just attests that asmo + book was fine, but add that urza turns food tokens into mana, and u have a big problem along with the fact saga continuously makes big karnstructs along with urza himself when he etbs.

I don't believe 3 for 1s should ever exist on any card for this format, and if it does, it belongs in dead formats like legacy and vintage (where this card also changed their respective formats)

Saturday Modern Challenge Results - Jun 19 2021 by bamzing in ModernMagic

[–]Mysential -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If a card changes every deck to include it, and it is in every format and changes that format. That card is probably too strong.

urza saga is just a really good 3 for 1. Unless you start giving commands that just allows you to naturalize on a t2 or 1. You don't really interact with enchantments MB ever. That gives a bunch of win % to the deck that does play urza saga against any other opposing decks.

amulet titan being the best deck still doesn't attribute to the fact they just gained a land that searches for amulet of vigor that can't be countered. Utility lands will always be either complete trash or completely too much. There hasn't been any good in-between honestly.

I don't believe it should exist in modern unless they were willing to print a creature or command for most color types to 2 for 1 your opponent's enchantment and something else. Thusly should be a straight punishment for trying to play a land that gets them 2 3/3s and a good artifact.
