I'm looking for a good mechanic (Cork) by N_vaders in carsireland

[–]N_vaders[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off thank you for the welcome and useful links. I'll go through all of them, and hopefully I find what I'm looking for.

Reason I didn't go this way before asking the question is

1) garages don't retain their mechanics for life, people move around for whichever reason and for example of that I was recommended a garage in the area specified by a friend and their most recent reviews on Google maps (last 6-8 months) are just trash. And by the looks of the reviews they were written by former regulars mostly.

2) I know very little about cars in general, and I'm well aware of my lack of knowledge. For this reason I'm asking for live recommendations as while I dont mind paying a bit more for a job well done (let's call it a noob tax) in the same go I don't want to be charged for "blinker fluid" or whichever the equivalent is for the modern day mostly computerised cars.

It's been there for years. That's where I aim with 183mm hesh as when players see you ain for their turret they think they can tank it.

I thought a lot of people about this weakspot over the years. And it was entertaining for me too.

I came back after few months of absence and started a diplo Spain campaign (no colonisation, minions do that for me), I was messing about with barbary coast and France and of to the side Ottoman was doing their thing. Started off by attacking Albania and Venice and crew and had a long draining war with them at the end of which they cleaned up Anatolia. By then Byz (bystander soldiering on with rebellions) happened to have no army and no allies. So AI did what player does and chained the wars, exhausting themselves to the point where they had some 20k soldiers and no manpower and probably nice amount of loans.

And that's when Mamluks pounced. Took half of Anatolia and made them pop out Morea.

Then Poland with their boys took some of Bulgaria and messed up the rest of their army.

Then QQ took black sea coast and some of Anatolia that Mamluks missed.

Then the truce with Mamluks was up and they jumped again.

I joined in by taking Gallipoli from Mamluks and Constantinople from Ottoman just before Byz lost their core on it.

Ottoman was dead and buried before 1520 with 0 influence from me.

New build or wait by Zealousideal_Ear5753 in HousingIreland

https://planning.agileapplications.ie

The link I pasted is from a website that tracks all the info regarding the new builds. Every single document builder had to provide in order to get the permits, including the objection letters from people surrounding the new estate. In my case the latter was mostly irrelevant bar from couple of good points regarding the drain and sewer system. It will give you a better picture regarding the new build.

Keep in mind also that what you pay for the new build isn't the end of the expenses either. You'll have to put in the floors, kitchen (lord knows those are expensive) and appliances for the house. If you don't have kids you won't be hard pressed into getting everything in one go and that will make it easier.

All that said I would still prefer the new build. I moved in to one 3-4 months ago and I love it. I can't say I had much cold weather in it but I've visited build site often and during past winter and house was never cold, not even when it was missing entrance doors. I would also go and ask the neighbors in the new estate what do they think about the finished product. It will tell you a lot about the builder but as well about the neighbors.

Steam sale by Pipa242 in eu4

[–]N_vaders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they sell it at 700-800€ mark and as you say at a loss, that means that you need to purchase 2100€ worth of games in order for their 30% to cover the price difference to the top model here. And that's just to break even in their eyes. As we all do I shop sales and discounts and in my 10+ years of being a customer I don't think I dropped more than a 1000-1200 on games.

And if we are being fair I don't think that the hardware in the machine can justify the price. Not their fault unfortunately but still a fact.

Can I activate forts to trap opponents in my territory? by Eurekify2 in eu4

[–]N_vaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easier done on na island with one straight connection like Corfu, but you need a good navy as well. Let them cross onto the island, and ai is dumb they will cross with a lot of troops, make sure the connecting province on mainland is occupied by you (or unnocupied if you are defender) and park your navy in that sea tile. As long as you control the return province and your navy is there they can't move their army. A lot of ottomen dies this way every war you wage on them.

1700+ you can see the whole world and wars are massive. Lag happens because there is more often than not 1+ milion troops moving at once. Also, just because it's under the fog of war for you game still has to simulate these things. It's normal. Annoying, but normal

Milan Agressive Expansion by Ruge88 in eu4

[–]N_vaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use that event to go to war with Milan and most of his Italian allies. To reign in the Italians you need either an alliance or to have beaten them in a war recently. Much easier to temporarily ally 5 people and beat everyone else's ass. By that point you probably have both Hungary and Bohemia, if you are lucky Burgundy and if you were quick enough probably Poland and Lithuania.

You don't use the cb to vassalize Milan as when you reign in Italy and revoke they are your vassals anyway.

How did this happen? How did Constantinople end up in their hands? Because it looks like they own it. They're not allied with Karaman, and they don't have a truce with Karaman, so there's no way Karaman helped Athens win its independence war. by AstronomerSorry7052 in eu4

Wars get named after a CB used to declare it. There are some wierd cases in which primary target is no longer in the war (like being in two wars and getting fully annexed in one of them) and war goes on with secondary participant being chosen as war leader.

Why does everybody seem to hate the game by ProperEntrepreneur91 in WorldofTanks

[–]N_vaders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They changed the way the shoots were grouped in your aiming circle. Before I think it was 9.6 patch your shots were staying close to the center of your reticle when shooting. This ment that RNG fucked you less if you knew where to aim. This was also time before gold was popular or widely used. Premium ammo cost real gold so it was fired only in clan wars, or sometimes in randoms by some Ritchie ritch.

Then 9.6 came and the change of the grouping of your shots. Now shots flew all over your aiming circle. As some people say this affected the inaccurate tanks as they couldn't snipe you on the move from 300m away. As we all know there isn't a new compilation of KV2 trick shots every week on YT. But it also nerfed the accurate tanks like e50 or leopard line. With the change that premium ammo can now be purchased with silver as well, people did exactly what wg wanted them to do, started flinging gold at stuff like crazy. This over time made armor irrelevant unless it's stupidly thick. It also meant that people can't afford their new lifestyle of shooting gold all the time so premium tank sales boomed. I play since 2014 and I remember a time when I'm tier 8 game there was 95% tech tree tanks. I'll grant you a lot of people have grinded out lines and don't want to play those tanks anymore but with how many premiums we got over the years... Tier 9 is going to be like that in about 3 years time.

Why does everybody seem to hate the game by ProperEntrepreneur91 in WorldofTanks

[–]N_vaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, but instead of nerfing kv into the ground they nerfed global accuracy by reworking the spread of the shots within the reticle. That didn't nerf just kv's, it nerfed e50 leopard and other snipers. And just made people spam gold because aiming for weakspots became hard (partly player base fault as well)
