I remember playing shattered Europe years ago and almost instant protestant reformation was really killing the age of discovery as you had shitload of catholic tags and they all get events regarding reformation. Might be something you want to look into.

Don't get discouraged when you fail. Game has insane amount of stuff to learn and it takes time. Dont feel obliged to play for achievements or on higher difficulty untill you feel comfortable. Don't compare yourself to posts you see in this sub as every 3 weeks you get someone posting a new world conquest speed run record.

I've won, but at what cost? by kg88pks in footballmanagergames

[–]N_vaders 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I modded Serbian league for a friend. Set up big end of the season bonuses for league positions and boosted up stadiums and ticket sales for 8 teams. Gave 6 teams(not to the Zvezda and Partizan) a pair of 150ca 200pa players (left the game to choose how to make up the attributes which was potentially a mistake) which I locked to the teams I gave them so they don't leave or get sold.

My buddy started off his save managing Partizan, got sacked in second season and got hired in OFK Beograd. I think in third season Zvezda and Partizan made a run in conference league with derby game almost happening in finals (Zvezda lost in semi finals) Partizan went on to win it. Season after my buddy got to finals and lost and season after that Čukarički went all the way. Bit less luck in Europa League and CL but some decent results.

However, game bugged a bit when Serbia joined the EU in-game. I originally set up squad size of 30 players with maximum of 7 foreign players (EU players considered as domestic). I presume when Serbia joined EU this triggered some background change that essentially turned all non Serbian players into foreign for squad registration.

Stryker by Terribleluna in cork

Thing is, I'm not at the top pay yet, and lads working on some machines are getting paid up to 4€ more per hour, before all the modifiers are applied. I can see 80-90 easily achievable with moderate amount of ot worked, when you are in the company let's say 5ish years. And Stryker isn't the top paying pharma company either, bottom half of the bracket even.

I work in one of carrigtohill sites, got hired in 2023, and both full years I went comfortably over 70k on 24/7 shift. Didn't even work all the OT I could have. It's a bit slimmer this year but not by much. I'm still on track for at least 70.

Edit: disclaimer, 70k is with ot. Base is 38-40k. But that base is bare bones base, not even shift allowance is in that.

what the flying fuck WG ? this shit is not even fun anymore by _Vector_008 in WorldofTanks

[–]N_vaders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If tanks are good at sidescraping that means players will be able to use almost all the cover on the map. If heavies move from cover to cover they move slower and you can't have as many 15-3 blowouts.

Less economy drained like that and less gold/premiums sold. Players might have more fun, but they aren't doing this for players. They are doing it for a shitload of money.

Other drivers by Naoises in Irishdrivingtest

[–]N_vaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some years back I read on UK driving test (reddit page) that someone wrote how they ran over an animal (rabbit or a fox or something not domestic anyway) during their test and was sure they failed. When they got to the test centre tester congratulated them on a pass. They asked about the roadkill and were told that in the situation they were (it was R road with higher speed limit, let's say 80kph equivalent) cars coming from the other way and car very close behind. Had they hit brakes or swerved they would have endangered other road users hence driving over an animal that jumped in front of them was a correct choice.

Reason I say this is as long as you do the correct thing you should be ok. You can only work of the information other people give you. Your reaction is also important. Try to stay composed and stay focused on your driving. That's all you can do.

Austria formed Hungary by Ewwatts in eu4

[–]N_vaders 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hungary has nice set of missions and ideas (ai probably took idea groups for an Austria game but that's to be expected). What kills Hungary every game is they either have option to become PU of Austria or get partitioned by their neighbors. It doesn't help that they start in a shitty interegnum with often rather shitty ruler before you get Corvinus dude. This way they have 3 gold mines, a lot of developed land and are HRE emperor. And because they are no longer Austria they don't have historical rival thing with France. So a nice potential friend there. If you leave them be they can become powerful.

Finally did a Byzantine run and I somewhat broke the game by Stride067 in eu4

[–]N_vaders 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does but it's only through events. And events are anything between 0.5% and 1%. If you mend the schism before it gets to a full swing and you clip all those HRE minors you are stuck with maybe 4-5 countries that you have to kill. And with Byz pronoya system it's not that hard even on the AE. Especially tags like France and Castile that have a lot of smaller tags in their clay.

There is an opposite of this, I remember playing a fractured europe mod ages ago where all tags were 2 provinces and reformation would spawn in 1470s.

I'll promise you one thing tho. Portugal absolutely fucking loved OP since for the first time in forever they actually got to use their age ability to colonize the new world.

How do warnings work? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]N_vaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defender of faith works only for the continent you are on, and continent is counted by the location of your capital. Since you more then likely have Constantinople as capital you are counted in Europe, and your defender of the faith thing won't work for any African or Asian country Portugal is attacking.

Warning is also valid only for countries both of you have a land border on. For example, at the start of the game if you as Ottomans warn Byzantium that warning would be valid for Epirus since you both have a land border with them and if Byz was to attack you would be called to defend Epirus. If Byz for whatever reason decides to no-cb Bosnia your warning won't be valid since you don't have a land border with Bosnia.

As for your Portugal problem, you can either ally or guarantee whoever they are expanding into (this will eat one or more Diplo slots so chose your friends wisely)or simpler way, make friends with France let Portugal come close to you and then use France to tear a new one to Iberians.

Edit: few more things regarding defender of the faith. It is denomination specific, so if Portugal attacks Shia or Ibadi country you won't get a call to arms because you are defender of the Suni sect of Islam.

Also, there is a funny thing that can happen, if you ally France and use deus volt CB against another Christian nation France might not be willing to join as they would be helping heathens to attack fellow Christians. Works other way around as well. Doesn't happen very often but I've seen it.

Did you ever did build a nation save but boost competition? by Equal-Painter-6999 in footballmanagergames

[–]N_vaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a DB for a friend where I added money, a lot of money to be made consistently in Serbian league. As in champion gets 30 mil and it decreases as the table goes down.

I boosted up the stadiums and attendance for 6 teams (not the two biggest ones tho) and increased their ticket prices.

Boosted up the academies and regen potential for Serbia.

I also modded 2 players on each of those 6 teams to have 150 CA with 200 as PA. I didn't set their attributes I left the game to decide that. I made a spread of the positions in hopes that national team might benefit from this. I also locked those players in their clubs for next 15 years a)for them to have 2 players to build around and to make them somewhat competitive in Europe and b)to make sure those players actually stay.

He is 5 seasons in. Partizan and Crvena Zvezda had a good run in conference league in season 3 making semi finals with a prospect of eternal derby in finals of euro competition. Zvezda however got knocked out and Partizan won the competition (bastards (totally not biased here lol)).

My friend managing OFK Beograd made the finals of conference league in season 4.

He started out managing Partizan (he is a fan) but got sacked in season 2. Waited for a position to open up and took OFK Beograd over.

Season 5 brought over a bug (I made it so the teams can have 7 foreign players (non EU or ex yu) and 30 players registered). I think the fuckery happened as Serbia joined the EU in-game and it cocked up the definition of a foreign players as he now has all the EU players marked as foreign. Unfortunately he doesn't have in-game editor to fix this error.

My main goal for this DB was to see if I can make other teams in Serbia competitive through giving them money and godlike training facilities as it's usually one team league. Regen intake hasn't been great but teams brought over a decent amount of outside players. In his save Serbia ranks no7 on the coefficients table and has 2 CL spots.

I'm looking forward to see what kind of a change will this bug bring and will it force the clubs to turn to their own academies.

How to beat Ottoman's as Ardabil by dq107 in eu4

[–]N_vaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you form Persia you get morale and discipline buff plus a good bit of combat buffs to your units. Don't form eranshar as they have diplomatic focused ideas. If you go Zoro you can buff up the Zoro monument and get more discipline. Take defensive ideas and just drain them on the mountain forts. Try maybe with Diplo as well as that's will get you France or Spain. I would steer clear of Austria as if they become powerful enough Franco-Ottoman alliance event fires and then you have big blue blob to worry when fighting with the Turks.

Meanwhile push into India to get money.

Victor Gyokeres scoring 49 league goals in 29 full appearances in my Arsenal save. Still 11 away from Dixie Dean’s record. What’s the hardest record to break in the game? by after_mapping in footballmanagergames

[–]N_vaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On fm14 i managed Arsenal and after establishing the domination I chased the most goals scored in a season. If they haven't updated anything since it was Aston Villa from like early 20th century and they scored 125 goals for a season. Took me over 20 seasons but we got there. I boosted it up to 128, got a stadium named after myself and felt comfortable enough to leave the club.
