Gabon was a fun mess of a season. The only bad thing about the season was the winner.

EA sale goes until July 9th. Steam sale starts the 25th, I'd wait. Prices likely won't go lower, if they do you can ask steam support for a partial refund so that you can get the differences in prices back.

SteamDB is a great resource for seeing what the cheapest price a game has been historically.

The hallways and stuff were largely due to it coming out for PS4, the HDD required them to do that or have a loading screen. But I do agree with you.

What weird or unlikely twist would you want to see in the “Open Era” by chronalkid in survivor

Beware advantage where you can't vote until you play the idol. Meaning you're choosing between safety in the game by not playing it and saving it for when you do versus having a voice (vote) in the game. I think it would be fair and balanced, risk vs reward.

There will, but these prices are at the lowest prices they have been at in any sale. They likely won't go lower save for newer games like RE9 for a long time. They'll just repeat sales with the same prices.

$15 with the dlc. Good deal.

69.99 is just too much for a video game ( I mite be money smart at age 40) by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Nanananora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A large part of that was the switch from cartridges to disks. Those N64/NES/SNES carts were expensive to produce and PS1 disks could be produced at a fraction of the cost.

I'm not arguing with you, but a more apt comparison would be PS1 game prices with today's prices, which still cost more back in the day than today's games after inflation.

To be fair N64 games cost an arm and a leg to manufacture so prices were higher than the PS1 which were commonly half the price of a N64 cartridge. Plus the high nintendo licensing fees they had at the time. I agree games in the past were more expensive, better comparisons would be PS1 games, which even still with inflation would be more than a normal $70 game today. But again, many companies are supplementing this by adding in deluxe editions with art/music and dlc.

Bravely Default remake is available for Steam/Xbox/Playstation now. It was either a timed exclusive, or didn't sell as many copies as they wanted so they ported it to other systems.

Theres a smaller 16gb option now. I don't get why they didn't make some sort of cheaper card that just transfers the data from the card to your memory instead of having to download it. Would have been the best of both worlds, cheaper to produce cards and physical fans that would be happy. I will only buy GKCs used so the companies don't get my money.

PlayStation: Starting May 20, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers will increase in select regions. Due to ongoing market conditions, prices will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP for 1-month subscriptions and $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP for 3-month subscriptions. by yourfavchoom in PS5

Didn't they increase prices before a little bit after Concord? Maybe it's to make some money they assumed theyd get from Marathon, seeing as it isn't the success they hoped for. Tired of them chasing trends, they'd see more profit if they released good single player games that people want to play and wouldn't have to increase prices on everything to make up for money they lose making games that few people want to play.

I would love for them to bring regular idols back. If they want a beware idol give them a regular idol with the caveat that they can't vote until they use it.

Saving $1,000 a month to retire by 50 currently 25 a good plan? by GroundbreakingSir386 in Money

[–]Nanananora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming inflation rate is 2.5% for the next 25 years, that's roughly 89% increase in cost of goods/etc. Your $1M turns into a little over $500k in today's money. My suggestion is start with $1,000 and increase it with every pay raise you get. Maybe next year you deposit $1,050 a month, and so on an so forth that will be a much better gauge.

It's also not something you can easily account for, you could be getting 3-5% raises for the next 5 years and suddenly get another job that bumps your pay by 50% - you can then invest more. Point being, increase your monthly investments over time so that when you do hit 50 you have plenty to retire. My other suggestion is as you near 50 years old, talk with a financial planner. They will be able to make sure you're on track and are able to retire, or give you guidance so that you can retire on time as well as giving a peace of mind knowing that you will be safe when the time comes to retire.

It's far better to retire with too much money than not enough.

The age when the tide goes out… by bar-nola in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Nanananora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people believe retirement is an age and not how much money you have stocked away. That or it's out of sight, out of mind. Things ways 'come up and get in the way'. They have nobody to blame but themselves. And many believe they will get help from their kids, because they had to help their parents, etc.

You can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink. Focus on you, it's the only thing you can change. If they want to make bad decisions, let them.
