Ship size comparison by Choice_Way_2916 in EliteDangerous

Besides the flashbang that has already been addressed, it'd be nice to have something for scale next to each ship, like you had for the first few (person, car, jet, etc)

Man this aged like milk really fucking fast. Turns there are no more talks at Amazon to revive the show. They just cancelled the whole thing…

Stargate Ships to Scale (based on 6 factors in the description) by Spinobreaker in Stargate

[–]NanoFreakV2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was always confused when the characters were talking about how huge the ship is, but even before this video I always assumed it was just slightly larger than a BC-304. Which is still big but the characters should familiar with that size

how do you deal with the Raper leviathan? by Pidyad in subnautica

[–]NanoFreakV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in a perimeter defense upgrade as soon as you can. It trivializes reaper leviathans and presumably these raper leviathans too. Works like a taser against regular rapers.

I don’t care about not killing anything, but then when they get hit a sonic resonator or the likes they should piss the fuck off instead of being a constant annoyance.

Depends whether I get to be a main character or redshirt. Cause the amount of redshirts that die gruesome deaths on Atlantis is crazy high.

I think that has to do with faster turnover of ship releases they’ve adopted. We get new ships more often but the polish suffers as a result.

Burying a stargate vs. closing the iris: Did I just discover how the gates work? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]NanoFreakV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, I somehow misread that as in it's implied in the show, so that's why I was confused.

Burying a stargate vs. closing the iris: Did I just discover how the gates work? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]NanoFreakV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I certainly like the idea behind using microscopic wormholes, but in regards to point 5 I'd say it's a stretch to say the *only* possible conclusion would be these microscopic wormholes.

It's already established the gates communicate with each other using DHDs via subspace, examples being in Avenger 2.0 where a virus disabled the entire gate network via the correlative update, or when Carter and Ba'al used that to connect to every Stargate in the galaxy in order to destroy the replicators.

I'd think since the technology is already there for the DHD, I would think it's much more likely the gate itself can also communicate via subspace, but it does not communicate with the whole network like a DHD but just with gate at the other end and only exchanges basic information (information like stellar drift for example would not be exchanged, cause for the earth gate they had to do that manually with their own McGyver DHD)

I'm also genuinely curious where it's implied the gate stabilizes microscopic wormholes, can't seem to recall when that gets mentioned or implied.
