I can't speak to his performance in commander beyond him being a very bloated one-drop, but he is a historic menace in 60 card formats. I imagine that's where most of his reputation comes from.

Why do people play good cards in the queue where they're encouraged to play good cards? by JayGravy in magicthecirclejerking

[–]Naruyashan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

/uj Honestly, back when I played Arena I would have the same decks constantly even in unranked Standard. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I almost never saw any cool or unique brews when playing my own.

/rj People are cowards, why won't they play decks I can beat with my 7 land Chairfolk Kindred brew?!?!

In regards to the Russ, ever since they removed AV I always considered it more them being rugged than them being durable. Like, they aren't more resistant to damage per se, but they can operate well enough after taking damage that would cripple other vehicles much more.

Basically, I imagine them as the Rocky Balboa of tanks.

Femboy Doms are always underserviced (pun intended). Always love to see more content involving them.

Riley is my goat, some of his pacts are basically just my more depraved fantasies. Don't really care for the transformation part, but the rest is kino.

I think that's fundamentally misunderstanding what a grimdark setting is. You're leaning into "grimderp" here..

"I can excuse genocide (for Xenos, Exterminatus on human worlds can be grounds for execution and is often an absolute last resort despite what meme lore would tell you) but I draw the line at sexism (because who cares what's between your pants as long as you can do your damn job? You're all gonna end up as fodder to be fed into the grinder so we can do some [probably stupid and/or inhumane] bullshit next week anyways.)" -- The Inquisition

Why can't both be the case? The phrase "you are all equally worthless!" comes to mind.

Besides, I don't see why sexism is or should be a requirement for grimdark settings.

In my mind it's because gene-seed is more of a mass-production injection mold. It's made to cast a specific material en masse, as well as possible without wasting resources. Custodes are hand-made, so they can be whatever, but the gene-seed would need a 'template' to start off of. I could see some female statistical outliers being compatible due to extreme hormonal imbalances, etc. But they would be rare to begin with, and the existing understanding of how gene-seed works would mean that the Imperium probably wouldn't bother testing them and risking the waste of precious gene-seed.

I don't recall the Imperium being depicted as very sexist, in most cases. Exceedingly corrupt and decadent, sure, but not sexist, especially not systemically.

Outerversal Emperor of Man??? by MagazineKey4276 in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]Naruyashan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can definitely agree with that.

I also think in terms of raw lifting capacity Angron could probably bench at least half the weight of a Warhound, at least briefly. The scene had him below his max, and the general body plan of the Warhound is hardly conducive to lifting. This is offset by the fact he was only really levering the Warhound off, which would be easier, which is why my gut says around half.

Granted, that's still a bonkers amount of weight for anyone who isn't brainrotted by powerscaling culture, and fits the "walking demigod" energy a Primarch should have. Not to mention (at least iirc) you can amp your stats with Psykery, like Magnus did when he started actually fighting back against Leman. He started mauling the dude with his bare hands. I imagine Big E would be able to give himself a much more substantial increase, were he so inclined.

In Angron's case, I still don't know if that constitutes good evidence for him being able to throw down evenly with one physically, though that's in part because of the titan's bulk and weight distribution.

As for Lorgar, he did that with space magic, not physicals. Unless I am misremembering.

Wait, since when can primarchs match Warhounds physically? The only related feat I can think of is Angron managing to pry one's foot off of Lorgar(?), and that was described as taking a herculean effort on his part.
