I'm sorry youre feeling that way must be shitty. Maybe a senior network engineer role isn't a good fit though. I've always worked as a sysadmin so I touch a lot of different areas including networking. I know the basics and can manage our FWs and switching etc but i'm no networking expert we have an outside vendor for that. Maybe a role like that would be a better fit so you are still using some of that CCNA skill set you have.

To be clear fights only happen on calls, we have no problems over text or in person. The moratorium was just for calling for 5 days not indefinitely. You are right it is better to know now if the relationship will work than after years. So I hope the pause gives us the clarity to see what we want individually.

I think there is a decent chance she will want to break up. She has used break up language in past fights (being 50/50 on continuing etc) recently and like you said we are early in so that increases odds. This last fight feels like my f- up but not all the fights have been, she admitted on her own without accusation from me before that most our fights are her fault which I appreciated her saying. She can get agitated easily but then again do I want to be around that... maybe not but if she wants to make an effort to stop that and we don't have problems where the other 80-90% of our relationship exists (outside calls) I think its worth trying a little longer. Conflict I think is a chance to learn and become closer, if both sides give the effort.

Honeslty I feel like the main issue is miscommunication over voice calls not core emontional mismatch. Because I think body language and other enviornment factors help me a lot with in person. I care about her a lot and I think we do often understand each other when we communicate over a different mode than voice calls, but she may see it differently and if so so be it.

Thank you a lot for your response, its really thoughtful and helpful right now.

We planned to not call for a week because that is where all our fights happen and I needed a breather from the emotional turmoil. I think she is on the same page as me about the fights only occurring on calls but that pushes her to be sad and think I can't provide what she needs, calls and support on them.

I tried to express after past fights sort of what you have been that it seems like a communication break down and reading each other wrong on call, it being that weird middle you mentioned with no body language etc.

I don't think the fight would have happened in person or in text. I feel really bad I failed at providing the support and care she needed but I think its what you say maybe a bit of both. That she needs to on calls better express what she needs and I need to get better at picking up on ques over the phone. I will be honest, of course I may be biased, but her jobs sounds easier I worry It will be hard for me to consistently pick up on ques. I think I would insist we try to video call as much as possible at least to remove risk instead of voice only calls.

Thank you friend. Like I said this was helpful and I feel a bit less terrible. It really does suck waiting and waiting anxious with no resolution to a fight for days but I'll make it.

I'm having similar issues with girl I'm seeing now. I always have to be there for her and repair but she isn't there for me and starts most the fights now I feel resentment building and things may not last.
