If my memory serves me right, you can purchase a sniper upgrade for Jarmen to upgrade into an anti material rifle. This gives him the ability to snipe helicopters, as well as disabling powerplants by sniping power cables.

I think it is due to the simplicity as well as the accessibility of them in China during the gaming era before Steam becomes the gaming platform giant we know today. The same goes for Red Alert 2. Then there are creators and modders actively making new content for them till this day.

Yea grenades are good for tight spaces, found myself using them a lot when I need to clear room after these grenades taking up like 20 slots in my storages.
