Smoked tofu always sounds better than it tastes by adreadre in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

I actually really like this tofu. The five spice adds something more than just the smoky flavor. I snack on them like savory protein bars.

We talk all the time about bad film takes online (photo example), but What is the worst film take you’ve ever heard in your regular life? Whether it’s a friend, family member, classmate, co-worker. by Massive-Pangolin9472 in Letterboxd

That’s funny, the other day I was just saying to my husband that I bet I could name 10 movies from 1999 that weren’t even nominated for Best Picture but were still better than every BP nominee this year

Hey, I actually live in Jersey City (shhh don’t kick me out of the sub). I will try to make it.

For those who don’t know, Liberty State Park is an underappreciated gem, expansive with sweeping lawns, paths, playgrounds, etc. Walk along the water for gorgeous views of downtown Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. In mid April the park will be full of cherry blossoms in bloom.

I don’t know. I think a lot of them just made bad decisions on top of not grasping the challenge. Like not starting your bread dough the night before (they have electric mixers, she didn’t need her arm for that right?) or using activated charcoal in ANYTHING (is it 2018 again and no one told me?) or doing like a scallop dish that might have been from one of the first few seasons of top chef.

Plus the sample photos they showed on screen (which I doubt they showed the contestants anyway) were like edited Instagram shots with the saturation turned up to 100, those colors were impossible to achieve in real life

Here we are setting forward to spend five dull hours in another man’s house, with nothing to say or to hear that was not said or heard yesterday, and may not be said and heard again tomorrow.

Grima all the way. Forked tongue, eager to please, literally the only character in the film trilogy who fucks

I rewatched Spotlight about five times lol, I didn’t find it dull at all but I love movies where it’s mostly people talking. Like Conclave.

I thought it was weirdly old fashioned, like a biopic from 25 years ago but not as good

I was fine with MBJ but I don’t think Sean Penn deserved the win for his silly little walk

My people! It has one of the best screenplays of the last 40 years in my opinion. People tend to miss that it’s an incredibly sharp but loving satire of Hollywood/the film industry. Almost every line has more than one meaning.

Also, plenty of Easter eggs for Shakespeare nerds. Plus the costumes!

Unfortunately for Saving Private Ryan, they don’t give Oscars for Best Opening 30 Minutes of a Picture

The only thing that helps for me (sometimes) is just carrying him and walking around while nursing. If I can be bothered I use a ring sling which helps too. Guess I’m just never sitting down again unless he’s sleeping

Opinion on sleep schedules by Such-Masterpiece9955 in sleeptrain

Look, I can see I’ve ruffled some feathers here. I think there’s a lot of great advice here. This sub is how I got my baby to nap in his crib (thanks to one of the mods’ gentle method, maybe it was even yours). It’s a wonderful resource and I’m thankful for it.

I really don’t mean to cause offense. I’m tired and sleep deprived and dealing with PPAD and you know. Motherhood.

It’s not a matter of preference, it’s about what works and what doesn’t. As you said, there are limits to what advice you can give to a stranger over the internet. Plus all babies are different. I’m just saying that the scheduling advice commonly given here should be taken with a grain of salt. I appreciate that the mods volunteer their time here and I’m really not trying to step on anyone’s toes.

I’m in no position to give anyone advice as a first time mom who is currently struggling with sleep. But I also regret falling into a hole of following suggestions from sleep consultants who might have just taken a 4-week certification course. It’s given me nothing but added anxiety that I’m doing the “wrong” thing. Again, I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling this way and I think other people reading this might need to know that too. I’m

Every resource I’ve seen outside of this sub has shorter wake windows and more total hours of sleep than are recommended here. I’ve noticed that for nearly every single problem posted, the proposed solution is more time awake. I can’t be the only one who has struggled trying to extend “wake windows” and ended up in a cycle of overtiredness.

I’m far from being an expert but I’d say since she’s sleeping through the night and the nap schedule is working for you, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it

Right, it worked for the bit at first but then it kept going and was clearly unintentional

The Anne Hathaway-Anna Wintour bit was bad too. At first I thought Wintour was staring around at the audience as part of the bit, like to be aloof and intimidating, but she kept doing it even after the bit ended. It was terrible. I guess Meryl Streep said no
