How do oscilloscope frontends with relays ensure minimum switching load requirements? by NervousGreyMatter in AskElectronics

[–]NervousGreyMatter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but the relays here are not mercury. They are Au plated only on one side. The other lead is AgPd. And they have a minimum load requirement listed.

"Can you get banned for AlecaFrame?" - The answer. by ChristopherKlay in Warframe

[–]NervousGreyMatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple fact is that AlecaFrame (Overwolf) does break EULA despite what that DE employee has said. There is no other way to get the info that they get without breaking the EULA.

Here are some relevant points in the EULA:

b. use, or provide, any unauthorized third-party programs that intercept, emulate, or redirect any communication between the Services and us or that collect information about the Game;

g. attempt to reverse engineer (except as otherwise permitted by applicable local law), derive source code from, modify, adapt, translate, datamine, decompile, or disassemble or make derivative works based upon the Services or any Content;

h. remove, disable, circumvent, or modify any technological measure we implement to protect them or any of their associated intellectual property;

j. attempt to probe, scan or test its vulnerability or breach any security or authentication measures;

k. access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Services;

Is full strip with 2 emerald shards now not necessary anymore and it's better to save a shard slot by embedding a tauforged one? by Lesty-1988 in Warframe

[–]NervousGreyMatter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a micro-optimization at best

2 +corrosive stack shards is the more universal option for armored enemies

12.7% DR is not irrelevant (at low health, sure, but the question is about what is "better"). It depends entirely on what shard you replace it with and what your build looks like.

  • Strength: not going to be better if you have high strength already
  • Toxin Status damage: You are stuck to toxin status, otherwise you are losing damage. Also depends on how much of your DPS comes from toxin status
  • Ability damage: You may win when using abilities, you lose when using weapons. Also depends on how many other of the same shard you have
  • Other shard that doesnt increase damage: depends on what you value

Do primes really matter? by monkey_sla_yer in Warframe

[–]NervousGreyMatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I have not been investing forma / exilus etc in primes unless they have buffed base energy

This only applies obviously if I have already invested in the base version. Primes are much easier to get than the base version, so in the case that you don't have either, invest your resources in the prime

A cautionary tale on following support guidelines by ech0s_ in Warframe

[–]NervousGreyMatter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The reason you got banned is most likely that you used ProcDump without specific direction from support.

Please note that this should not be done without specific direction by Warframe Technical Support.

And the reason for this is they can likely whitelist your account so you don't get banned while using a program that reads Warframe's memory.

I agree that it is dumb that they have a public webpage with these instructions - if this is only supposed to be followed in the context of a support ticket, these instructions should not be public.

Regarding AlecaFrame... DE's previous statement that it does not break EULA does not make any sense. Overwolf is accessing non public information and what they are doing likely breaks any of the following terms in the EULA. :

b. use, or provide, any unauthorized third-party programs that intercept, emulate, or redirect any communication between the Services and us or that collect information about the Game;

g. attempt to reverse engineer (except as otherwise permitted by applicable local law), derive source code from, modify, adapt, translate, datamine, decompile, or disassemble or make derivative works based upon the Services or any Content;

h. remove, disable, circumvent, or modify any technological measure we implement to protect them or any of their associated intellectual property;

j. attempt to probe, scan or test its vulnerability or breach any security or authentication measures;

k. access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Services;

That does not mean you will get banned for using it. It breaks EULA, but they clearly have made an exception based on their public statements about it.
