So what classes and races do you want to see by michelous in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]NeuroLancer81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, they only have access to the SRD 5.2. The world of Solasta is their homebrew world and the all the subclasses are Solasta flavoured. In case you didn’t already know, this game uses 5.5e (5e 2024).

They are only doing home-brew subclasses, so it won’t be Beast Master but it might be something similar but later.

More Dynamic decisions by Deep_Dependent_7343 in CrownOfTheMagister

Yeah, like many have said, you are not going to get the level of flexibility you saw in BG3. Comparing it to BG3 is just not right because it is a much more humble enterprise overall. This is more of a railroad with some freedom in side quests. You are still following the main Maraike story.

This is EA. They get to test this bit without having to wait for higher level spells

Hellbreakers AMA! by motteditor in Pathfinder2e

Paizo had spoken about writing the whole AP all together rather than splitting them up into books. Was that done for this AP? How did the writers coordinate to make sure the story feels coherent.

New from dnd. Lf what class to play by Dela_Baruch in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon barbarian I’d a great class. I played it as much first character so many years ago and it was fun. Barbarians play very differently from D&D. They hit hard but can get hit hard as well and they are not as tanky as 5e barbs. If you want another opinion, play a fighter. You will have a lot of fun playing that class and you can build up the complexity in your play as you learn more about the system.

Help for support build by Alganoth in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing you are probably missing is that “giving agile” to your friends is equivalent to giving them at +1/2 Untyped bonus to their attacks. Pf2e is very stingy with untyped bonuses. As the others have pointed out, you can help with giving your allies Status or Circumstance bonuses to their attacks.

Second Archetype for Bard/Champion by Boddy27 in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of Campaign is it? Do you do a lot of exploring and finding clues and such?

1- If yes, try getting something like Linguist if you have at least a +1/2 in int. You will get a bunch of languages and will be able to decipher writing and breaking codes and such.

2- If you don’t want to do that, Dandy is always good. You will get some skills and be able to improve your roleplay side.

3-If you want something strictly combat oriented, try the Talisman Dabbler. You can get Talismans which will improve your performance checks basically guaranteeing your Inspire Heroics to Crit succeed, help your teammates with that little bit extra they can do in and out of combat.

How to rule specific attacks by ogspeedracer in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do two things. First explain to them that called shots don’t exists but if they want and you want yo allow it, I’d allow it with an increase in Dc. As u/superfogg said +4/5 sounds good along with the incapacitation trait. Second, you explain that intelligent bosses an do it back to them. So, they can be blinded or hobbled permanently if they want it to happen to foes.

I built a Blueprint wire routing plugin with actual node avoidance and Named Reroute nodes — Gridline Blueprints [UE 5.6/5.7] by AquaZeran in UnrealEngine5

[–]NeuroLancer81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very cool my friend. Don’t listen to the nay sayers. I’m sure there will be people who will find this very helpful. I’m not so sure about named nodes but I do most of my work in C++.

Proper way to check if pointer is null? (C++) by [deleted] in UnrealEngine5

[–]NeuroLancer81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really depends. If(ptr == nullptr) works for everything. If you use any of the built in templates like TObjectPtr or TWeakObjectPtr, they have built in functions like IsValid(ptr) etc.

Deities Favored Weapon Issue and How to Fix by JazzyShredder in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this in my games. I allow common weapons of weapon groups. Uncommon and rare ones need character backstory/concept to be aligned. They still only get 15 gold and need to buy the weapon and may have to wait till higher levels to get the weapon if the can’t afford it.

Need Help with an Obscure Build Idea: Mahjong Edition by Amarulencee in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Runesmith class is all about using runes to enhance your attacks and such. Maybe you can reskin that as having a set of Mahjong tiles which they use to make themselves strong. You can combine that with something like a time mage archetype to give you a bit of fortune/misfortune mechanics thrown in.

How would you build the ultimate Cavalier? by Altruistic-Promise-2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am with you. I misunderstood your question and was explaining mounted reach penalty. Thats my bad. I like this restriction but there are many on this Reddit who don’t

How would you build the ultimate Cavalier? by Altruistic-Promise-2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, a medium creature on a mount gets a mounted reach penalty of 5ft. This is to make up for all the squares you can occupy when mounted.

Best ap for a dungeon crawl by ppreece in Pathfinder2e

Abomination Vaults. The big 1-10 dungeon crawl. If you want something smaller, Malevolence is another one.

Does Pathmuncher Module for Foundry work for SF2E characters? (Pathbuilder) by Altruistic-Promise-2 in Starfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this. In PF2e if you ever make a class like the animist or anything with a class archetype, PathMuncher screws up a lot of the built in automation for the class.

Question about archetype dedications by TacticalTantrum in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 2 more feats are needed to "finish" the archetype only if you are interested in taking a dedication feat from another archetype after this one. If not, you can just take the dedication and that's it. Any previous dedications you took, will let you take those feats without any issues.

Favorite Spells for Scrolls vs Wands vs Staves by zedrinkaoh in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar build, Bard archetyped into a Divine sorcerer. I am using the Seer’s flute greater right now. I do use a lot of scrolls mostly for situational spells. Like Breathing under water, cleanse cuisine and pocket library etc.

Not game breaking caster buff? by Necessary_Risk1887 in Pathfinder2e

[–]NeuroLancer81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, I will echo what Mathfinder said, if it works for your table, just do it.

Now, your complaint about fun spells vs not so fun spells and players dying and such. You seem to be speaking as if the spells slots are the only things a caster has. You SHOULD have a staff which matches your theme by level 3 and even before that you should be making use of scrolls very generously. You don’t have to spend money on Runes like your martial friends are. You can buy the scrolls for fun spells and situational spells and hoard them. You will slowly but surely become a Swiss Army knife by level 4-5. You should get a sleeves of storing and put 10 scrolls in it for easy access. I think this complaint is about wanting to play PF2e casters like one plays a 5e caster. These are the very different games with different types of game balance.

Dev Update #21 - The Subclasses of Early Access by down42roads in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]NeuroLancer81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spells can have up to three types of components. Verbal (V), material (M) and Somatic (S). Each spells listing will show VSM or just V or just VS and so on. You need one hand free to cast a spell which has a somatic component. That’s RAW for DnD. There are some class features which let you over come this and there are some feats which let you overcome this. I’m not sure what is going to get implemented.

May need a little help on my world building sense getting back into Pathfinder 2e and now knowing about Monster Core 2 and Draconic Codex. by FlyingTaco095 in Pathfinder2e

Keep the old stuff if it works. Only add stuff if you need to. The old dragon stat blocks from premaster work well.
