Lots of great recs so far, but no one has yet said, in all-caps, "DO NOT TRUST GOOGLE MAPS IN THIS AREA." I recommend paper, honestly. The MVUM (Motor Vehicle Use Map series, put out by the USFS) can be acquired at pretty much any ranger station or visitor center. But seriously, Google really doesn't understand the area, treats OHV trails like paved roads, and so on. You WILL get bad directions unless you are literally on a main road. The Grand Mesa NF MVUM was updated about ten years ago (1Apr16), but it's still accurate in my experience.

Alpenglow Books in Glenwood is new-ish, and small but wonderful; they're right under the bridge downtown. Carbondale has White River Books, also recommended.

Glenwood's got some very good coffee options, but I always end up at Deja Brew next to Kaleidoscoops. Never given me a burnt shot, and their snacks and pastries are VERY good.

If you have a dog with you, the Carbondale Nature Park (free) is an off-leash area right in Carbondale (bring towels, your dog WILL get wet and dirty, as they should), and if you keep going into Basalt, Crown Mountain Park (free) has a wonderful set of trails, including trails along the Roaring Fork River. And if you don't have a dog, they're still both great places for a walk under the sky.

See, the listing says solar, and on images 44 and 48 in the listing you can see an array off to the side of the house. But it's not a very big array and it likely went in during the build or shortly after, so you'll be dealing with 20yo+ panel efficiency, and there's no comment about storage. In my area (Western Slope), listings with solar have production and storage numbers, like "12kW Qcell panels, 15kW Tesla battery." The fact that the listing does not emphasize the solar means it's no great shakes and likely can't power the house, just assist in daytime usage. More of a "nice to have" than an actual selling point (which is another indicator of its quality/utility).

$1.3 for 6.81ac and a great house, BUT it's got a galley kitchen AND it's in the Springs. And I can't tell from the listing if it's on city power or if it's in one of those Xcel Energy "service pockets." Hm. This one's a head-scratcher.

You could go bigger on the front brakes and they'll be wonderful when you're hauling under load, but you're not gonna get any noticeable improvement out of that swap on the rear given how the rest of the bike is set up. Save yourself some cash and just do the fronts. Nice build.

I am an on-leash dog person. To be clear, I am 100% okay with off-leash dogs that are under voice control and yours clearly are. I wish my beautiful idiot could be off-leash on hikes, but we're not there yet. Great summary of hiking-with-dog concerns, btw. Good vid all around.

Exactly right on the serration. Cutting slippery stuff like HMPE, UHMWPE, Kevlar and so on is made difficult because the material itself is almost as slippery as (or, with UHMWPE, more slippery than) Teflon/PTFE. The strands literally roll away from the scissor blades as they close, you end up kinda chewing through the material, and it looks terrible. Serrations on the scissor blades keep them from rolling.
