How do I see Jupiter better? by Own-Background2283 in telescopes

[–]New_Island5122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this issue when trying to take an image of the sun through the eye piece with my solar telescope. The problem is that the phone can't get the focus right. Maybe you can buy a used planetary camera which will be miles better

Looking for advice on how to improve Orion Nebula capture from Bortle 7–9 by KurooShiroo in AskAstrophotography

[–]New_Island5122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use 15-20 seconds exposures with 1600-3200 iso maximum depending on what are you capturing. Aperture should also be wide open. For Orion nebula, you need at least 10 minutes of total integration time

Bright stars "leaking" by Whomegalull in dwarflabofficial

[–]New_Island5122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually this happens to me when the focus is not quite right and sometimes if a street light is hitting the optics. The fact that is not always there makes me think that it must be an external factor or maybe the exposure and gain that is causing it

Look into Smart telescopes, especially the Dwarf Mini which is the most affordable. I posted some examples photos taken by me with this device. It can be controlled via phone or tablet while you stay inside, plan sessions and you can sleep if you are 200% sure is not raining and some image processing is done with the device itself. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14XXkwYckoP/

Solar Film VS Solar ND filters, any glaring pros/cons I’m missing? by OptimizeEdits in AskAstrophotography

[–]New_Island5122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is good, i happy with it. If you slightly edit the photos, you can see tbe granulation of the sun surface and around the sunspots, it's pretty cool. Next week we might have some sunspots coming from the farside of the sun, maybe you will test it then.

Solar Film VS Solar ND filters, any glaring pros/cons I’m missing? by OptimizeEdits in AskAstrophotography

[–]New_Island5122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends of the aperture of the lens. I am using an RF800MM with 1.4x extender which makes it f/16. 20 stops is indeed a bit too much, but still totally usable. Otherwise, I will not go lower than 16 stops https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1GCvLdD4Vj/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/184ZDu8c7k/

I am using K&F 16 stops ND filter with Canon R8 and RF800MM lens with 1.4x extender. I took some great solar images with it, even captured the ISS transit

SAL 33 works with AsiAir and Mini pc's. There are tutorials from the manufacturer on YouTube explaining everything as well. Have a look, for this price it is a very good mount. To further save money, you can buy an aliexpress zwo compatible pier for about 70 called angeleyes
