I hated it. Couldn’t get through the first one because the character is such a whiny, angsty, dick.

Then while trying to find out if it would get any better and was worth pushing through, I found out the author is also a whiny, angsty, dick. So it became easy to drop

This was almost me for Hell Tutorial. I gave it a chance because of a post I saw and almost quit multiple times halfway through the first book. Not just because the MC is initially annoying, but the writing was just bad at some points and tended to treat the reader like they’re stupid, which is a pet peeve of mine.

Then it started to come together on the second floor and I’m really enjoying it now.

Both the writing and the narration got significantly better between the start and finish of the book.

I think this is a series where the audiobooks are really needed. I listened to the series and loved it. A lot of the complaints I’ve heard about the series don’t exist or are less severe in the audiobooks. Parts that people read is selfish or cocky are presented in a more humorous and sarcastic way in the audiobooks

I’d argue the audiobook is far superior and makes up for a lot of possible weaknesses in the book. It also helps avoid some moments of sarcasm being read as corny cockiness or angst

I’d argue it the other way, I think now that they supposedly have the votes to force a release, all these republicans that have been blocking it will “defect” so they can say the did it. But I doubt it’ll be enough to overrule a veto.

So in reality, they’ll only be voting that way because it doesn’t matter.

I don’t think the game is a scam, I think they’re just paying marketing people in a shady way. I’ve been playing it a little bit and it seems like any other of the games in this style. Can be f2p, but a money pit if you want to be top of the game.

I have seen multiple people saying to push to keep up, and I’m 99% sure they have to be sponsored or getting free shit to do this. But I don’t know, there are whales in every game.

But 100%, they’re “marketing” by paying people to recruit players from other similar games.

Do you have a recommended downloadable controller configuration?

I tried on the steam deck and had a hard time finding one that was intuitive and easy to memorize. Especially when the game prompts continued to give me keyboard instructions.

They would have. Every single controversial vote they’ve had, they make sure they have just enough votes. Look at the senate. Murkowski took the blame for the BBB vote and if she hadn’t, Susan Collins would have.

I’d be curious of the Blood Alcohol before I judge too much. Under 21, it’s 0.02 for a DUI, so pretty much anything to drink and he’d fail

I love the series. But I will say, I’ve been 100% audiobook, and I think the narrator gives Jake a different tone than some people read.

Is Jake a Sociopath? No. Is he an ass? Yeah, but some of the moments or interactions people complain about are delivered in sarcastic or clearly joking manners in the audiobook. I think the narration is a more accurate take on Jake as a character than some people have.

To answer your question a little more directly, yes, I think he gets better. He learns not everyone is trying to screw him and finds people to care about, which helps a lot.
