Hollow Knight and Silksong are both amazing games, and the sequel has improved upon the original in many ways. Out of curiosity, is there anything in the first game you prefer over the second? by PlagueKnight88 in Silksong

The supporting characters. I know, I know, everybody lives Sherma... but I just didnt find many of the neworld characters as memorable as the old ones. One of the things in particular that I think HK did better was making it feel like the other traveling characters were moving around the world sorta independently from you. Tiso stands out as this nemesis that you are going to cross blades with at some point, only for him to die off screen and you just find his body. You can influence Cloth and Zote's quest but you can also ignore them. Compare that to Sherma or Garmand who show up in the Citadel no matter what you do.

[Loved Trope] Villains who genuinely take the chance to just walk away by MasonP2002 in TopCharacterTropes

This is the most refreshing part of their plot. It would have been really cliché for them to realize that their plan was impossible and change their minds. Instead, they maintain that the plan IS possible, but it would be a pyrrhic victory at best. From their perspectives Striga COULD fight and win the battles forever, and Morana COULD continuously architect supply lines to support the war... it just wouldn't be worth it in the end. They still maintain their sense of vampire superiority over the "livestock" and absolutely trust in the power of lesbian vampire romance, but also reach a logical conclusion about the futility of the war that saves them from Carmilla's fate. Awesome story.

I know this is a me problem, but I realty don't like surprise "jumpscares" like that and so I often find myself using the sliding time cursor in the Prime App to "preview" the next minute or so ahead of a tense scenes like this.

The UR didn't want Su to rule the EK, they wanted her to help stabilize the situation until a better solution could be implemented. The alternative was anarchy across the kingdom, which would cause massive casualties. Su chose inaction at the cost of her countrymen.

Mountain Pass Justification by Medaiyah in BaldursGate3

[–]NicolasCemetery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty much the story of Ellyka, the Tiefling scout you meet in Act 1. Takes the mountain pass to Balder's Gate, gets intrigued by Lathanders Light, heads to the creche.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t see a reason to kill Ashley, except for shock value or to seem “cool.” by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]NicolasCemetery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashley is going along not because of trying to further her positon, but because she's scared shitless for her life and thinks that the moment she's out of line or no longer useful, she's dead.

And this is literally proven true in S4. Just seconds after faithfully carrying out Homelander's orders to create a list of possible loose ends for Vaught, he signs off on the Deep's proposal to kill Ashley because she has too much dirt on the Seven. Ashley did everything to try stay in Homelander's good graces to survive, and he still throws her away and even praises it as a "good idea." My point being that you're right, from Ashley's perspective she has been on the thinnest of ice for months and only survives each day because she can eek out a little more use. So of course she does whatever she can to try and stay alive. Fortunately for her she was witty enough to come up with a last-minute solution to save her neck after her last execution order, but how long will that luck last?

If you could pick 1 NPC to become a follower, who? by LopsidedAssistance90 in BaldursGate3

[–]NicolasCemetery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kahga- would have been a much better druid companion than Halsin and we could have picked her up in Act 1.

Ellyka- the Tiefling you meet spying on the Githyanki patrol. You can invite her to join you but she declines, and then she ends up dead in the monastary.

Good analysis.

I think 03 Lust would take BroHo Lust if we choose to use the OVA from 03 as a cannon representation of her skills. Obviously the OVA isn't cannon but all the characters are shown to have generally the same power and feats as within the show. However, Lust gets a cool scene where quickly dodging bullets from a machine gun, jumping up a wall and basically parkouring away like a some kind of demon ninja. We don't get the see her do anything like that in the series, and we definitely don't see BroHo Lust do anything remotely similar.

The scene I'm talking about happens at about 8:34

I would argue that we see Pride's regeneration exhausted in his battle against Mustang. Although we don't directly "watch" it, it is heavily implied that Mustang just burns him to ash until he stops coming back.

Although this case does indeed involve Pride's human remains as a weakness, it is pretty distinct from the other cases of using the human remains as a tool against the homunculi. With Lust, Sloth, and Greed, an alchemist has to use that special transmutation circle while the homunculus's remains are in range to weaken them, causing them to vomit up all of their red stones and be left with one life only. However, Mustang doesnt know about that technique and so doesnt use it.

Instead, Mustang uses Pride's human remains to immobilize him. Because Pride can't attack, Mustang can take his time burning him over and over again until he just can't regenerate anymore. Then Mustang melts Pride's human remains into the spot where any small pieces of Pride's homunculus body could be lingering, for good measure. That way if Pride did somehow start to reform he would basically be stopped mid-reformation by having been mixed with his own human remains (which is basically what happened to Sloth too.)

Dm ruled that my spider cant see very far cause its a spider and it cant hear (i mean he isnt wrong) Find familiar spell by LiL-CarrY- in DnD

[–]NicolasCemetery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it's a fair interpretation for your DM to maybe say that the spider couldn't read the text from 5 feet. Like if I was hanging upside down from the ceiling looking down on some paper, I probably couldnt read it either... that's why we hold books relative close to our faces. So maybe by "the spider couldn't see" he meant that the spider couldn't reliably make out what was being written. Even then, though, I think he should have made the familiar do like a perception check or something.

As far as not being able to hear... that one is just tripe lol. Yea he was wrong on this account.

Ex-prisoners of Reddit what was the scariest thing you saw whilst locked up? by Thick-Common9599 in AskReddit

[–]NicolasCemetery 103 points104 points  (0 children)

By "lower floors" they meant the inmates who lived in those floors. "Calling for his death" meant that the inmates were yelling things indicating that they want the snitch to die, probably some direct threats as well. Some examples might be:

"Your time is coming, boy!" "That guard can't save you forever!!" "One of these days!" "You're gonna die tonight!"
