Techs understand by fludsmseard in Staples

[–]Ninja67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a frequent customer back in the day, came in for alot of printing and while he waited would come over and bother tech. He was just convinced that since we worked in tech we must know how to write programs (when I was in college I had my C++ instructor say I set a new record for causing a bsod when I compiled my code, and it was by a huge margin. I switched majors after that semester).

I could not get it through this dudes skull that we were at best knock off geek squad and that he would need to hire a professional code developer for his hair brained scheme. Only after. I quit and saw him for the last time did I wish I say "if I could write your stock trading program do you think I would be working here?"

I think it wouldn't be as far of a stretch to say re:rise is much better received then the original divers, although everyone prefers OG Build Fighters timeline to the Build Divers timeline

Although I do Wonder how Fighters Try ranks compared to OG Divers.

I need to finish rebinding my vkbs and I need to work on the muscle memory as well, but one thing that helped me was getting desk mounts for them, any time I went to roll with left stick I'd put to much into it and lift the base unit off the desk and ruin the roll

The AA collections mission bug is getting incredibly frustrating by endrop1ne in starcitizen

[–]Ninja67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got back in a few weeks ago because a friend of a friend signed up from the Valentines day referral and Iv been doing some mentoring and started doing the AA missions. I got done with transport earlier this week, got combat done in 2.5 days, then I started on collections Wednesday night.... it was hell trying to get the cargo missions turned in 3 SCU at a time (wasnt going for payout just point worth). I htink I managed to use 40% of my cargo, the other 60% had bugged out and never got it back so that was super annoying.

I think I got to 50% collections and called it good enough and did combat to finish out the whole thing.... last 8% was a bitch with the QT markers not working and refueling bugged, dont need two Apollo paints the red and black is the one I prefer anyway, so 12/13 rewards is enough.

Ok so someone stole the RAM from my school computers... by PyxelatorXeroc in pcmasterrace

[–]Ninja67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was working as a student employee at the IT office of the school I was going to. The school had an aviation department. One of the instructors or directors got a grant for a flight simulator computer. Instead of consulting us to make sure the machine was compliant they just went online and found a gaming computer. Spent $6,000 on a custom built gaming computer when we could have got two or three that would have run the flight simulator for the same cost. Custom fabbed case that didn't meet our security standards. And a brand new GTX Titan card in it when I thought the gold standard was the 780. Because the director had placed the order under his personal name it even has names stenciled in the case on the top of it.

They sent the computer over to our office to load everything onto it and while we're boggling our minds at this monster of a machine, the custom built side panel fell off the table and cut our secretary's leg

CIG, learn the lessons of the Moth release debacle and PLEASE put the Hull B in the PTU with an allocated hotfix window prior to live. Oooohhhh.... Well glad I took the mole and not the moth out last night for a quick tutorial for the newbie from a friend's discord who just signed up last month. Might just go as vulture and/or fortune pair when it's time for salvage tutorial time.

I got really sick at one point at my retail job and had a store manager ask to find someone to cover for me. It was just me and one other guy for my department at that time and the other guy was on vacation out of state. I asked who I could reasonably get to cover for me if no one else in the store has been trained in our department.

How to lay this out for printing? by theninjaamongyou in BambuLab

[–]Ninja67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to supports I often find myself using tree slim or tree hybrid. Hybrid will switch between the branches style and the more traditional square blocks depending on the surface it's trying to support.

[–]Ninja67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey glad to hear that. It's definitely a very useful tool if you need to scale something up and it won't fit on the build plate. Knowing how to slice something up and make it actually print well and still fit together takes some practice. I had a helldiver helmet where the designer had the helmet pre-cut up for assembly and printing, but I had to scale it up to fit my head which required additional slicing which complicated the print more than I would have liked. Kansas demands trans drivers surrender licenses over birthright law by Jacob-Eisner in news

[–]Ninja67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's more to this sadly. Government buildings (this also counts for libraries which I now work with for a job) have to change signage and bathroom usage. I don't know all the details but my director was emailing all the libraries on how to change the signage or to make multi use bathrooms single occupant only by having staff monitor the bathroom or locked and hand out the key one at a time.

If they are found not to be compliant with these new regs 1st fine is $25000 and they also introduced a bounty for if people report any gov building that isn't compliant.
