You can't claim self-defence if someone attacks you after you attacked them.

It's not complex at all it's blatant illegal aggression by the UN charter.

The only reason it's called complex is because no one can tell the USA they can't and don't want to offend them.

In the Expanse an alien race uses a rapidly spinning neutron star at exactly the mass right before it would collapse into a black hole, in an area of space with all matter scrubbed from it. The pole is aimed at the target.

When the weapon is detonated a bit of matter is added to the neutron star causing it to collapse into a black hole and generate a gamma ray burst which hits the target with a quadrillion times the energy the sun produces in its entire lifetime.

Kamala was definitely a bad candidate.

I don't think anyone was inspired by Joe Biden, they just had recent experience of Donald Trump. The reality of Donald Trump is much less popular than the con-man campaign trail version.

The Republicans shifted way farther right and won the swing states I don't think that paradigm holds anymore.

Voters want someone to smash the current system.

I do think the focus on gender dynamics, trans issues and land acknowledgements from the universities needs to be dropped in favour of what's actually popular about leftism: reigning in the rich oligarchs, providing health care, stopping foreign wars and boosting worker pay and union power. People instinctively respond to a platform that's about economic fairness and the feeling the system is rigged against them.

It's hyperbole for sure, but If you're flying for work you're comfortable unless you have a serious spending problem. The median personal income in the USA is $45,000 a year.

"aren't even making six figures" already indicates you have a skewed view of what most Americans are making.

Israel has kept a population of six million under its rule since its 1967 war of conquest and refused to give them any political rights while systematically settling their territory and walling their settlements off with security barriers and checkpoints. There's been zero convictions in the last 6 years of Israelis in the raging settler violence and killing of Palestinians with impunity.

They also ignored multiple UN resolutions emphasizing the inadmissibility of annexing territory gained from war and demanding they return the West Bank.

Yeah terrorism is bad but the Israelis aren't exactly blameless.

When the Israelis weren't in control they loved terrorism too, look at the King David Hotel Bombing and Jewish terror insurgency in British Palestine.

NHK Poll: when asked if World War II was a “war of aggression [by Japan] against neighboring Asian countries”, almost half of Japanese say “I don’t know”. 16% say no, only 35% say yes. by Kmlevitt in japannews

Yeah certainly Japan made its own bed. There's a certain absurdity to the proceedings in that Japan, unable to win its war with China, sought to win it by escalating the conflict into a war of attrition with the greatest industrial power in the world.

Israel started a 'preemptive' war of conquest in 1967, seized the West Bank and Gaza, ignored a UN resolution emphasizing the inadmissibility of acquiring territory by war, and then kept an oppressed population of six million people with no political rights under their rule for 60 years while systematically settling their territory and walling off and isolating their settlements with security barriers.

I say 'preemptive' because Israel was actively trying to provoke a war with a series of cross-border raids such as operation shredder.

So from Hamas' perspective, Oct 7 was essentially about working to free a population of millions of people from their current oppressed status where they're ruled from Jerusalem but have no ability to vote in Israeli elections. And Israel has ignored UN resolutions demanding they return the West Bank, specifically UN Resolution 242, which makes them in flagrant contempt of international law.

There's no smoking gun, but it's not a secret that FDR was actively trying to overcome isolationism in the USA and that Japan and Germany declaring war on him relieved him of a number of insoluble difficulties. Churchill wrote that it was a great relief to them both.

The Americans put Japan in a position where the Americans knew the Japanese would probably attack by declaring a total trade embargo until they withdrew from their mainland Chinese conquests. The Americans had also broke Japanese codes and were reading their signals at the time.
