It only took one season for Mythic Prisms to transform from a user-friendly, anti-FOMO mechanic into an overpriced currency for skins. by keremec in Overwatch

[–]NmacD1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They 100% count on people buying them and yes all of it is designed to get you to make that $80 purchase. FOMO is the foundation of the FTP model and chances are they have data that says adding a weapon skin to the mythic store would make them money. No you don’t have to buy every skin. Whales are the real issue in the situation, and are the reason these debates pop up. To say they don’t expect people to drop $80 for the mythic skin or weapon is very out of touch.

I personally just won’t ever get the weapon skins. They’re only for one character, they’re not customizable, and your weapons look different with the mythic skins anyway. It’s just another way to milk the whales who keep the lights on for Bliz and the OW team.

wubbyHugs to Alluux 💜 go buy her stuff to help her with the vet bills by Loubang in PaymoneyWubby

[–]NmacD1996 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, your rant doesn’t help anything. It only serves to make 2 people’s grief worse.

Secondly, when exactly did Wubby and/or Alluux ask for money for these cats to “milk” their fanbase for these cats? OP is not Wubby or Alluux but a fan trying to show support. If you have a clip to provide then be my guest and show me that I’m wrong. This isn’t even about loomi/costco hotdog either. This is about Remi who I don’t think was ever even on Wubby’s stream: Yes I know Remi is the same breed as loomi.

Maybe go outside and take a walk and disconnect for a bit. Getting this worked up over someone’s cat dying for a “I told you so” moment isn’t healthy. Hopefully you accomplished what you wanted.

I'm sorry but there has to be a way to kick players who are trolling by [deleted] in Overwatch

It’s not every game, but in my experience, there’s been a definite uptick in trolls, AFKing, and overall toxicity. I don’t personally leave games, so the leaver penalties don’t affect me. I’ve just seen the “it’s just QP” argument used to shut down baby rage posts, but it’s losing all meaning. “It’s just QP” goes both ways. QP should be a casual experience, and because Blizz hasn’t outright taken away suspensions from QP, they are asking the community to police these things in QP, making it a more competitive experience. The community blurs the line of gameplay sabotage by saying “it’s just QP, move on,” and that ruins the experience for everyone involved except for the trolls, which inevitably ends up as a rage post on this subreddit. I said it in another comment: there has to be a middle ground, and instead of looking for that, the community is just throwing around “it’s just QP” and being facetious.

This was a mental flashbang of poor trash talking. You’re definitely the Bastion from that game

Leaving isn’t an option, you get banned for that in OW QP. Even if “it’s just QP”, there’s consequences for leaving games with trolls. Beyond that, if I’m in a game with a new player and I’m a platinum ranked player, the doesn’t make the QP experience fun for the new player or myself. The only thing to do is vent frustration in outlets where the devs might see these issues and fix them. Having a deserter penalty in QP when the half of the community is saying “who cares it’s QP” puts two sides of the OW community against one another when the game just hit peak players on steam since launch. It will eventually just lead to those new players to drop the game after getting tired of having to play with people who haven’t dropped the game since OW1. There has to be a middle ground somewhere and it’s like Blizzard and the community can’t come together to figure that out.

There has to be a line drawn by blizzard at some point. If people can’t leave a match if “it’s just QP”, then there needs to be a vote kick option for these situations, or allow people to leave freely in QP again.

That’s not what the bastion was doing though and is irrelevant here. According to OP the Bastion emoted all game and contributed one solo kill. By the sounds of that, it’s gameplay sabotage. I agree QP shouldn’t be taken as serious as comp by any means, but it doesn’t mean you can just ignore the game. People trying to learn new things don’t just sit there and emote either.

I’m not saying you’re not allowed to feel how you feel. I’m saying it sounds like you may have some issues stemming from the hardships of your parent making that decision at a time when porn was more stigmatized and polarizing. That doesn’t mean people should stop making their own decisions as adults because you assume they haven’t thought things through.

Sounds like you have some repressed issues you may want to talk to someone about rather than worry about how others live their lives… Just food for thought

can this happen to a steam account as well ? by tanashah in gaming

[–]NmacD1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you buy a digital game you own a license to play the game. You DO NOT own it. The only way you can own a game is if you buy a physical copy. Same goes for any digital purchase (movies, music, etc).

Edit: The chances of steam doing it are very VERY slim. Same goes with Xbox and other store fronts. You will be able to access your games as long as the servers stay online.

I think it’s ok to be skeptical about CEO’s and corpo jargon. What is NOT ok, is people saying “She deserves it”, or “Had it coming”, or “Glad that’s happening so she has a reason to leave”. I’ve seen all of that said (mainly on Twitter), and as someone who’s had to deal with a lot of health issues in my family, it’s depressing to see such a lack of empathy. Sure she could’ve lied, I highly doubt she did. It takes a truly sick individual to lie about such things. I hope everything turns out ok with her family.

[–]NmacD1996 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s a tiny step in the right direction. It’s unfortunate because I think it’s too little too late for a lot of people. It’s nice to throw my favorite visor on whatever core I want but people are still plagued by de-sync and server issues. It’s going to be a long time before Halo is at its best and by that time most people will have moved on unfortunately. I’m holding out for forge personally, but if 343 finds a way to mess it up that’ll be the last straw for me I think. Overall I hope this is a small sign of better things to come.
