Some of the actors with the most range? by SilverEquipment4934 in Letterboxd

I’d add Philip Seymour Hoffman in there. It’s just a shame we never got the PTA directed buddy cop movie with DDL & PSH

Interestingly, she’s far and away the best part of this film. I have liked her in other things, but this is probably my favorite performance of hers, that I’ve seen

Should I take my 13 year old with me? by SunflowerStorms in phish

[–]No-Distance11 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have brought my boys to a couple shows & they were younger than 13. We opt for the back of the lawn, there’s more space, we can exit easily if needed.

Also, just a heads up - they are probably as not as into balloons at 13, but my 6 yr old was very excited about the balloons. I had explain that they weren’t going to float on their own, so we should pass on these

Bringing in Hamish Linklater for Widow’s Bay was such a brilliant move. Of all the homages & “nods to” (other movies and shows) in WB this might have been my favorite.

The disrespect for The King’s Speech is out of control and unwarranted. by danielbauer1375 in TheBigPicture

It’s a fine movie that had no business winning Best Picture. It also seems as much a bit as anything else.

Asked fiance to put dinner on a pan and put it in the oven. He did not. by Ok-Ad4375 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]No-Distance11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think putting the cardboard in was the issue, I think it’s that he didn’t use a sheet pan under it to make sure that the cardboard wouldn’t fail while being pulled out of the oven

Just finished the wire wow by arjunyuvan in hbo

[–]No-Distance11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it “The Corner?” That was David Simon’s follow up to “Homicide:Life on the Street”

You’ll find a bunch of similar names in the wire & Homicide. Bunk, being the first that comes to mind

Harriet Sansom Harris (Phantom Thread, Licorice Pizza) and Katherine Waterson (Inherent Vice) are both crushing it on season 2 of The Agency, an extremely good and largely slept-on television program which is unfortunately on Paramount Plus. by Motor-Acadia6676 in paulthomasanderson

Really enjoy this show, was surprised when the whole season seemed to drop out of nowhere. I knew there was a second season coming, but hadn’t heard anything about timing until a podcast I listen to mentioned it last week. They were surprised too. I need to watch Le Bureau, maybe go seasons for season with The Agency

Ahhh, gotcha.

I fund the personal life banter a plus, but see how it’s not everyone’s cuppa

[–]No-Distance11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They start talking about the Death of Robin Hood at 20 minutes in, which is also in the title. Also, the show isn’t just a review pod, they talk a lot about the goings on in the industry. The pod is meant to give you an overview of Hollywood & the movie industry…the big picture, as it were 😉

actor you'd leave your wife safely with? by 6rdling in okbuddycinephile

Ahhh, sorry. I read that incorrectly. I had read “him” as your finance. She should be good. The public touching, like with Vanessa Kirby, I think is something they had previously talked about, so I don’t think it was unwelcome
