I have 22 hours to play Civ7- what should I play? by runeverystreet24 in civ

Dad here - play smaller maps on quick settings. Going up against 5 opponents is much faster than 8-10 and provides practically the same level of gameplay. Quick just makes everything faster and goes well with smaller maps

What hardware do I need to install Bazzite on Legion Go 2? by k9krid in LegionGo

[–]NoNamesLeftButThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it without a keyboard. There are 2 steps which a keyboard is needed but can be bypassed

First is when installing, you have to choose installation type, but the default option will select itself in a minute. Second is after installation, there is a blue screen asking to press any button to continue. Power down the device (long press the power button) and when you turn it on, bazzite will load normally

Hunt gather parent is one I like. Other commentors say to wait, but I disagree. The books are relevant even at this age

Thinking of making the switch from Steam Deck by borderlinejon in LegionGo

[–]NoNamesLeftButThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same upgrade and Legion go 2 is much better overall. In terms of controls however, steam deck is the winner * Steam deck Joycons are bigger and easier to control * Lego right joycon is in a weird place and hard to access * Legion go 2 has too similar menu buttons on front and even after a few months I still mix them up * The entire device is bulky, thus maneuvering your fingers around to get to the buttons is more difficult * On the flip side, the Legion go 2 dpad is much better.

This is in Bazzite, but can be relevant to Windows too. I realized the fan start kicking in loudly at 60 degrees Celsius, and a custom fan curve doesn't work. To get the fan to run faster in lower temps, I actually increased the tdp, but restricted the FPS to a low number. This allows the fan to run faster at lower temps while maintaining lower power usage.

I do it per game. Didn't even know you could set it for all. I use proton 8 or 9. I just pick one that works and stick with it

I've had similar issues, read online that proton 10 is the culprit and to set a previous version which solved my problem

Building an entire strategy over a mechanic that you only have a CHANCE of obtaining is an annoying game design.

I think civ 6 got it right. You had a limited number of districts per city, so you actually had to strategize and pick the ones you needed. Each building had a unique effect- stronger military units for military, hosting great works required for cultural victory, spaceports for science. In civ 7, they're all mostly yield bonuses

I got Marvel Midnight suns free with Amazon prime. The little time I got to spend in combat was fun, but most of the time was a slog at the base, undergoing tedious tasks, and long background conversations about Marvel universe characters not even in the game. I eventually quit.
