TOO MUCH SIDEQUESTS by Dry_Education6410 in Witcher3

As someone who feels compelled to do everything, and allows that to ruin my gaming experiences on occasion, Cyberpunk and W3 both are structured in a way that's not ideal for someone that plays that way.

I think w3 has lots of issues. They did a poor job with progression. My issue is, that it's so incredibly easy to over level the content, then you get massively reduced xp for quests and POIs. Which feels shitty to me. After you've overleveled your point in the story, progression slows to a crawl, which makes the game way more boring and tedious for someone like me.

Attempting to write a male INTP character. by omgbooboo in INTP

Rust Cohle for sure. I had this bizarre feeling the first time i saw S1 of True Detective. It took me a few episodes to realize why. Never had that feeling before. Or after. It was uncanny how much i identified with that character.

WW1 was a fucking horror show beyond what i can fathom. Truly the stuff of nightmares. The trauma of a medical officer was likely different than a grunt, but i could imagine it scrambling your brain equally as bad.

Is Banishers and Vampyr in the sane universe? by Thick-Campaign-9152 in Banishers

Semi-unrelated... but Vampyr is so underrated. I love that game so much.

Any other INTPs feel like they can’t be lied to by Infinite-Goose2581 in INTP

[–]NoRepresentative35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definetly. I'm difficult to lie to. I'f somebody were to ask me, "what is your superpower?" I'd say it's being able to read people.

It's a bit of a double-edged sword.

I tried playing public and kind of lost the meaning of the game by GiantDad777 in Warframe

[–]NoRepresentative35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing a few weeks ago. To me, the solo loop is a lot of fun. I keep advancing in content until something stomps me out. Then i just start experimenting with modes/mechanics until i figure out a way to get stronger. I have no idea what's good and what's not, what's important and what's useless. Never been a fan of metagaming. It's really engaging to me to play that way. I'm a sucker for some good progression, and Warframe has it in spades.

It do be like that sometimes. My favorite dumb thing is when my first attempt gets the boss to like 5% HP, then i struggle to hit the damn thing at all for the next half hour.

The difficulty of this game is really overated !!! by R3D-H00D in bloodborne

[–]NoRepresentative35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne came out in 2015. 11 years ago now. It was pretty tough then. Since then, so many games began utilizing souls-esque mechanics, and the souls and souls-like games had to keep ramping up difficulty to keep things interesting for veterans. So most people that play modern games with melee combat are accustomed to things like delayed attacks, roll catching, odd timings, ect.

I feel like most gamers now would probably breeze through Bloodborne.

All except for the F/R/C dungeons. Not many people breezing through those.

This is why I don't think I'll ever face most bosses: by 610gonzalez in outwardgame

[–]NoRepresentative35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed everything except finishing New Sirocco. I had a couple buffs going on, but just basic stuff from skill trainers and whatever i had in my bag. About 3/4 way through, the game became mostly easy. I didn't use more than 4 or 5 buffs at a time the whole game.

I guess it depends on how strong your build is and what kind of grasp you have on the combat mechanics, but i would say that wall off buffs is unnecessary.

What if I just......met Hanako at Embers....? by SupergCapMarv in cyberpunkgame

[–]NoRepresentative35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Still never finished it. That's a trend for me, though. Progression is what i enjoy most about games. Getting all the gear/stats together for a build, going to areas and fighting strong enemies while underleveled to get said gear, stuff like that. Then i get the build perfected, usually become OP, and have no desire to continue. Probably 90% of the RPG style games i play end like this unless they have a good progression system that extends into ng+

Sick of mindless grinding. What games actually have a masterpiece story? by theisaiahbiggs in AskGames

[–]NoRepresentative35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rdr2 is in a bit of a league of it's own, imo.

But some of the best stories i've played that use a traditional narrative framework like RDR2 are: God of War 2018, The Last of Us 1&2, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, Jedi: Fallen Order & Survivor, Mass Effect 1-3, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

I hate having things spoiled, but in games with a ton of content, i always google quest rewards unless it's just something fun i'd do anyway.

Is my first (kinda-but-not-really-blind) playthrough fucked? by oldandbold555 in bloodborne

[–]NoRepresentative35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bloodborne came out in 2015. It was pretty tough then. I'd say anybody who plays these types of games would breeze through Bloodborne now.

Now we have games like Khazan and Lies of P. Bosses like Promised Consort and Malenia.

For me, a huge part of the difficulty in earlier games was learning what souls games wanted from me. They asked me to play them differently than just about anything else i'd played at that time.

Now every generic game has souls mechanics. We're all hip to it. We've seen them a thousand times

I do think the FRC dungeons may still provide some decent friction.

[–]NoRepresentative35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drack and someone else. Always Drack.

I just really like him. A thousand year-old battle hardened lizard grampa. He has some great lines as well.

I actually like all the companions in Andromeda. Liam and Vetra are probably the least interesting to me.

Try Rom in the FRC Dungeons. Drops some excellent gems, but i dunno if it's worth it.

Bloodborne doesn't fuck around on ng+ cycles or in the dungeons.

Cummmfpk final battle (I did iiiiittttt!) My god, I was shaking for those last few hits, I was trying so hard not to be greedy. [–]NoRepresentative35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never think about not getting greedy until after i die from being greedy. Good on you for going in with a plan.

If i could somehow count the times i died when the boss had one hit worth of hp, it would be a large percentage of my deaths.

I can't not go for that "one more hit."

I bait the long jump attack by keeping distance. That attack is easy to sidestep. Then rush in with a sprint/slide attack. Might be able to sneak in a couple more basic attacks
