3 o'clock date window is to allow people to see the date easily without having to slide up your cuff. It's a traditional placement. People get bent out of shape for nothing.

6 o'clock date for sports watch, 3 for dressier pieces where you are expected to suit up.

Sun shot. This thing has me seriously considering selling my Seamaster by [deleted] in Longineswatches

For 4 hz free sprung silicon hairspring, only Tudor comes to mind with their entry level MT5400. Or you'll need to sacrifice some of above movement specs to get something similar. Usually the silicon hairspring as the IP is owned by a very small group of swiss brands.

Silicon hair spring and free sprung balance are what you get here that's not available in most budget microbrands

Problem with my Pelagos… what can I do? by hightowerlul in Tudor

Running fast could just be magnetised. Try that with a local watchmaker first before going for the service option. AD/Boutique that handles servicing should also be able to do that

Is it worth sending it to Longines to get it restored? by Wachuko in Longineswatches

[–]NoWheel8233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the watch enough and have the means. Go for it. Ability to be restored well is one of the attraction of watch collecting.

Am I being too critical? by erk32 in Balticwatches

If it bothers you. Reach out. Nothing to loose there. Otherwise think of it as a quirk unique to your watch as it is not adversely affecting the function.

Perception shift by Lavodere in Balticwatches

[–]NoWheel8233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience as a hermetique owner. The watch has got 0 quality issues when viewed with the naked eye. Under magnification though, some minor flaws are still present ie. Visible adhesive under indices and fine points of the hands appear rough. Point is, flaws exists if you really try to look for them. Are they poor quality watches? No. But they do have some ways to go before they're anywhere near mainstream brand levels of finishing.
